NY Rangers = America's Team
Portzline doubled-down on Panarin to NYR in his recent post on the Athletic.
You guys heard it first on Blueshirts Breakaway during his interview.

Yeah, after the "Kovalchuk is a Ranger" thing I will believe when he signs.Doesn't surprise me. I mean we're used to this by now. The New York Rangers are the #1 destination for most players.
It's so hard to be this popular![]()

Where did you read that? For what I remember he wanted to go to a contender.Once again, Kovalchuk WANTED to be a Ranger. It was his #1 choice. WE, as in Jeff Gorton, didn't WANT him. It's a two-way street.

He wanted to go to the Rangers, but we didn't want him. We're rebuilding and he wouldn't have fit in.
So when Panarin to NYR doesn't happen, @Lone Ranger will be our new insider.I'm hoping this isn't a bad omen regarding signing Artemi, but the Panera Bread in my Manhattan neighborhood just shut down.
If you post a link saying that, I will believe you.He wanted to go to the Rangers, but we didn't want him. We're rebuilding and he wouldn't have fit in.
You make room for Panarin. You can have Panarin shooting off the side board while Zib would be at the top left circle on the PP.Panarin to NYR would be awesome, the only issue is that he is a right shot and therefore doesn't fit our powerplay very well. Not sure it's an improvement to bump Zibanejad from the top unit to make room for Artemi - and then he'd be the triggerman and not the playmaker since our PPQBs are all right handed. OTOH he'd be perfect for the PP if he shot left, replacing Zuccarello as the primary playmaking forward.
But considering how great he is 5v5 I'm not sure if I care.
Zucc Hayes Spooner and at least one of staal/Smith, maybe even Georgiev if needed, to sweeten a return should be dealt between now and the deadline
There’s a serious return in that group
Getting the picks/pieces we want from another GM is the tricky part though.Gorton isnt going to make trades just to make them.Zucc Hayes Spooner and at least one of staal/Smith, maybe even Georgiev if needed, to sweeten a return should be dealt between now and the deadline

Panarin-Chytil-Kravstov is something I need in my life.
Secure a top 5 pick in 2019 and have another draft full of top90 picks and we’re in business.

Yeah, I like this. The good news also is that we’ll get asset returns on Zucc, Spooner, ADA to keep the pipeline aliveif gorton wants to win a championship in his lifetime next summer he unloads some guys at the deadline drafts in the top 5 and grabs another late first or so then throws good old fashion New York Ranger UFA cash at both Karlsson and Panarin. Both of whom want to be Rangers.
Kreider Zibanejad Buchnevich
Panarin Chytil Kravstov
Andersson Namestnikov Fast
Vesey Howden Meskanen/Lettieri/Fontaine
Skjei Karlsson
Hajek Shattenkirk
Smith Pionk
Staal somewhere who knows
Hank
Shesterkin
that’d be a lot of fun to watch

There are plenty of ways to make it work
