It's way too soon for this victory lap. 10 games doesn't mean his hip will endure long term & honestly he was putting up points last year. Regardless he wasn't what the Rangers needed or currently need.

Finally, you're beyond delusional if you think we are giving up assets for Kane when we literally didn't sign him when it would've cost us nothing.

That pair looks good on offense, but Schneider is on his own in the D zone. Gustafsson is what he is. A 3rd pair/2nd PP offensive D man. He’s not much of a shot blocker/crease clearer

Gus is getting second pair minutes wherever he signs with next season.

Hilarious you’re whining about people shoving things down your throat. I only casually read this board. Posters all blend together. But I know your name, because for 2 years you’ve just endlessly posted about Kane. Unprompted, nonstop just carrying on about him. Never ending. Picking fights with people. He’s not a Ranger and we didn’t have the cap space to sign him even if we wanted to, which Drury did not. Next.

I agree with the first part of the bolded, but to blame Lindgren for Fox's poor/average play is one step too far. I've been vocal about breaking up their bromance for well over 2 years, but if you think Lindgren is the sole reason Fox isn't playing well, maybe Fox isn't as good as we like to think he is on this board.

Truth is, Fox hasn't been himself since the calendar turned 2023. I dunno if it's nagging injuries, or the league started to figure out his tendencies, but something is off. With that said, I am all in favor of upgrading at 1LD simply because it helps the team & it would benefit Fox to play with a better partner.

Agree, outside of the PP Fox has been wholly underwhelming imo.

Lindgren is a glorified role player. He's the type of guy that serious contenders trade for at the deadline to beef up their defensive depth. He's a great PK. He's not a first pair defenseman. We don't even play him like that. He gets 18 minutes or so of ice time a game and sits for 4,5 minutes at a time while Fox plays 1:40 of a power play. I say glorified role player because we use him with Fox, for better or worse, because of their connection. No contender is going to trade for this guy and put him on the top pair. Therefore, take it easy when discussing what we could get in return for him.
Now on the other hand, there are 31 teams out there that would trade for Miller right now because of his physical attributes, potential, etc. Plus he plays over 20 minutes a night and we treat him as a 1st pair guy. If we want to hit a jackpot in a trade, he's the guy to move, especially if you no longer believe he will turn into a star. And to be frank, he's quickly losing that shine. Lindgren is who he is. Miller still has that rep around the league of an upcoming stud.

1. I get that we have to be realistic and not overvalue Lindy, mo on that below.

2. KAM stays unless way too crazy overpayment to turn down

they ALSO will then be candidates for Lindgren as a cheaper Nurse stopgap
prefer a late 1st but can do something like EDM 2nd + Raphael Lavoie [a higher 2nd F prospect] for Lindgren

Especially considering we have missed Fox, Chytil and Kakko at times, Zibanejad has been mostly ass and Igor shaky. Good to know there's still plenty of room to improve, and not just by additions via trades but from within the team.

Brooks penned a piece today suggesting the NYR need more physicality and grit come the Big Dance. I agree, but the guy they acquire needs to come in the Barbashev/Copp mold. However, when you look at the roster IF fully healthy, and taking into account the chemistry between 20-93-17 starting to take shape, and the Panarin line, where do you slide the forward upgrade? Kakko will return, and the Rangers are optimistic Chytil will too. So where are you adding him?

This is why reading brooks isnt worth the time.

He always screams more grit. Funny thing, grit only works till a certain point, and then it just looks bad.
The rangers could improve on the 4th line, but likely our upgrades are gonna be kakko and fil coming back.
