Trading up from 19 to 12 would have cost a tonSchneider is ok but I would have preferred to trade up and snag Lundell too.
I wouldn't hate it but I kind of want to see him compete for that Mike Sillinger recordTonight, we get to scout Anthony Duclair as a trade deadline pickup.
This statement is so far off. The current state of goal tending in the League is at an all time low, There are a number of good teams that will suffer from poor goal tending including the Devils and Carolina. No goalies are worth big extensions
I really don't understand the urge to move Lindgren. "It's Girardi all over again!" Not at all. It's like signing Girardi to his $3.5 x 3 before the nightmare contract. $4+ for 4 years would bring him to UFA at the same time Girardi was. At THAT point is when you don't want to sign him to 5 years at a prohibitive rate.If anyone is not pleased with Lindgren, they have to say why, and offer a better alternative for a team that is in competition in a salary cap league:
-They're not going through a retool for at minimum another three years.
-They're not going to just pair Matthew Robertson with Fox.
-They don't have any LHD prospects in the pipeline.
-Most of the league is capped out or close to it this season.
Lindgren is very valuable to this team. He does not stink, and he does not suck.
Valley the other day said Save % is down across the league. Lower than post lockout when half the game was played 5v4.Not to get off topic, but if Igor's number this season stay consistent- it's a sign that his .935 season was a career year and that .915-.916 Igor is the norm.
Don't get me wrong, that's still very good in a league that has seen average save percentage fall from .915 in the middle of last decade to a disturbing .903 this season. Who knows, we might bring the old 'quality control cutoffs' of .900 and 3.00 back soon if scoring keeps going up.
But, is it worth a long term extension, for a guy who gets injured often?
And you don’t need a good keeper to win the Cup. Rangers unfortunately know this better than most of the other teams in the league. This statement is so far off. Depends on what you can trade Jones for. Don’t think Bear staying unsigned for long thoughIf we plan and are in negotiation to re-sign Gus....
would you sign Bear and trade Jones for a forward?
How about not trading anyone from the roster that is dominating the league in standings?let's keep Jones and see what we can get for Schneider

I'm not anti Tarasenko nor anti bring Oth up but I do not think we will win a cup based on either of those 2 moves. I believe we need a guy that can be counted on to deliver the mail when the passing game is not there. I really think we have a 2-3 year window based on the age of our top line guys. I'd like to see us go for it now. In 3 years we will have Zibs, Vince and CK probably in big decline or gone. Bread will be aged and gone. Those are our top line players. Other than Laf we do not have much in terms of replacements. I do not know what KK will end up being long term. I'm also worried about Chytil long term. In my view now is the time to go for it is something great becomes available.I'm pretty sure he's on a one year deal, and although my first preference is to get the kids up here to get some looks, I'd be more open to bring Vlad back then what else is likely to be out there. He walks at end of year but brings some firepower to the lineup, plays with an edge as we know, and is a big time locker room fit. All good vibes for a team charging to playoffs. Doesn't scream of trying to break the wheel and make it better.
Also, they said the same of him before coming here. Maybe being washed. I think he probably needs the right environment to be motivated. Not a great overall trait but NYC was clearly a big motivator. IMO he held out as long as he could to possibly come back to the Rangers but ended up in Ottawa as a next best option.
In 2021, I wanted Lucius, Bolduc, Svechkov, Bourgault, or Johnston...but Othmann has looked really good so far so I can't complain.i wanted Hendrix Lapierre, or really any center ever since we never ever draft any
I give the coaches and players huge props for their great start but we are not a dominant team. We are a playoff team so we do have a chance but we are not a dominant team imo.How about not trading anyone from the roster that is dominating the league in standings?
Yeah, maybe. Lundell is solid.Trading up from 19 to 12 would have cost a ton

We do not have the depth to make a move like this. You want Mackey or Hollowell to be the #7?let's keep Jones and see what we can get for Schneider
They're not. It's a very inconvenient truth but they didn't lose to the Devils because of Gallants malfeasance (wtf do they think he did anyway), they lost because after Game 2 they sorta stopped trying very hard and started taking a lot of physical shortcuts.I am still not sold on this team being built for the playoffs.
Those issues were happening from day 1 last season with Gallant. I do not see an effort issue with this team and Laviolette will not let that happen. They're not. What exactly is revisionist. Those issues were happening from day 1 last season with Gallant. I do not see an effort issue with this team and Laviolette will not let that happen.
This is a lot of revisionist history.
