Uh... He's dealt exactly one and it had a condition on it that triggered it.

I'd say that one DID work out.

Tarasenko was like using free money but if you want to use that one then yeah okay, didn't work out.

Tarasenko and Copp, no?

Oh, so I see what you are saying. Yeah, still two firsts burned.

No more please.

Ia Corey Perry a viable right winger? Do we have any prospects or young players with hot moms who are not secure in their marriages? Have to consider all of this before pursuing

I mean depending on what the number is, Kane may have been a good idea. Like I said though, if he signed with us he would be trash, for Detroit he will score a PPG.

Maybe Kessel? I don't want to upset the good things going in Hartford too much when there are options available, but sometimes it can't be helped.

I like the Edstrom callup. Anyone that has been watching/paying attention to Hartford knows he has been a big shutdown player for them and is always on the ice for protecting leads and PK.
If his hip is good, rest assured, he will score a point per game.

Could the Rangers do some fun stuff at the deadline if they put Kakko on LTIR until the playoffs?

Seems to me like Perry got caught messing around with a blackhawks employee and the team figured it was an easy way out of 4 million bucks and almost definitely a bunch of incentives

Pardon my being obtuse -- but I'm hoping one of the resident "capologists" can explain Crease's comment above as well as why putting Chytl on LTIR retroactive to Nov. 3 is for cap purposes.

Thanks much.

this doesn't make any sense. the Blackhawks have no reason to clear cap space right now and they certainly have the money to pay him. he could've just been traded at the deadline for actual stuff anyway. this situation does nothing but hurt them.

Doesn't perry have to agree to this termination?
Like with ADA he didnt agree and the only thing that we could do was have him sit out.

The Rangers offered DeAngelo a mutual contract termination so they could get rid of him and so he could go sign somewhere else. He refused that and the Rangers benched him for the year.

In this case the Hawks are alleging that Perry violated his contract and they are moving to terminate it accordingly. These unilateral terminations are rare in hockey and would typically only occur when someone really f***ed up, because the NHLPA will almost certainly grieve it. For a team to actually take the action they have to be pretty damn certain it will hold up to scrutiny.

ok so now theres more questions. Because if they said theres nothing criminal, but yet they're essentially cutting him and his salary thats the only thing I can think of.

Didn't the Hawks bring him in to mentor Bedard/the younger guys? Maybe he tried to show/guide them to something more unsavory. Maybe trying to coax them to do stupid things or trying to haze them. The whole situation is strange, especially with how fast it's all moved.

Not much. That max LTIR space with just Kakko on LTIR is 2.1 mil, and the actual number will be a bit less than that.

Fox will be coming off LTIR. I assume they just want a bit more LTIR space in case there are more injuries. Kakko on LTIR doesn't provide that much space.

Based on the rumors he did just that and was acting like a father figure for Bedard........

Corey Perry is one of those players tjat would add quite a bit of sandpaper to this team.

A more than capable player.

A nice add assuming limited minutes.

Love to add him

If what he did is as heinous as they're making it seem, he might not ever get a second chance in the league. The Rangers most definitely don't need to add drama to the locker-room right now under Lavi.

as far as adding some extra sandpaper, I'd take a long hard look at Yakov Trenin from Nashville. Nasty big-bodied power forward. Could be our modern Nemchinov in the bottom-6.

There's at least 1 person here who is always clamoring for them to bring up Brod, because, something
I remember I was a fan a year or two ago when he was flying in preseason. Not sure if that’s a compliment to him or a poor reflection of overall team speed, but he seemed like he brought more than a McKegg or Carpenter.

I believe that for most of the time Fox and Chytil were injured they didn’t need to go over the cap so they kept accruing, albeit just a small amount. But now that Kakko is out, along with l Chytil, they’ll need to go over the cap. They’re putting everyone on LTIR now, accrual is finito. But they can bring up lots of replacements from Hartford as they have both Chytil’s and Kakko’s salary to play with.
