Didn't mention Chytil as he wasn't a "reach" pick... the rest could be argued were. Miller sort of is I suppose but only in that they traded up for him and Linqvist is neither here nor there (yet anyway). But I am no draft analyst.

Ah OK didn't realize you were talking about "reach" picks. I don't think Kravtsov was much of a reach other than who else was on the board at the time. I actually recall Chytil as a bit of a reach because he was somewhat unknown and I think people were clamoring for other players who were available

Chytil was more a reach than Kravtsov and Andersson. Kravtsov and Andersson, in my opinion, weren't reaches at all because they were picked around players in the same tier. Chytil was projected to go in the 2nd round and it was a big surprise when he went 21st overall.

I can't argue that... as I stated I'm no draft guru... just from what I read... maybe instead of "reach" I should've said "consensus" especially w regards to top-10 selections but again my point was more that Gorts and Clark will be measured immensely by those 3 picks in particular. Not necessarily that they were "reach" picks.

As I stated I'm a fan of those players and can't wait to see them in NYR sweaters for a LONG time hopefully. Wasn't trying to ruffle feathers on particular players

Chytil was more of a “reach” than Kravtsov or Andersson.

Chytil was ranked between the 40s and 70s in most places. He was very much a reach pick if were going by pre draft rankings.

I believe his highest ranking was Bob McKenzie who had him at 31. Bob had Kravtsov at 12 and Lias at 13.

Can't wait to see what we will get for Zucc at the TDL, hint: it won't be good.
IDK. Some people always argue you get a better return in the off-season because more teams have hope for the year, and then you also get a full season out of the guy. I always felt like the returns are higher at the deadline because, while there are fewer teams, many of them feel that the stakes are much higher and also feel the pressure to make a move to push themselves over the hump.

I'd still expect a good return for Zuccarello. Some team will be in desperate need of a wing and/or some veteran leadership with considerable playoff experience, and pay a lot for him.

But #DOSOMETHING was just about to change the world.

I've always felt the off season was a bad time. Spots are saved for rookie hopefuls. Cap constraints. The top teams become comfortable moving picks when they leave lottery territory.
