Ok, I’ll bite..Also, there are other incentives Dolan can offer EK to bridge the gap on whatever he leaves on the table.
How so?

Going to offer him Staal's expensive CT digs...Ok, I’ll bite..

Obviously I am just speculating but one way to go is real estate.
Bern....?!Obviously I am just speculating but one way to go is real estate.
I literally died.Going to offer him Staal's expensive CT digs...

yeah thats not allowed
I know that its not kosher and highly unlikely they would chose that route but there are ways to make it swing.
maybe if you want to be fined and lose draft picks for trying to circumvent the salary cap.

I'd be more than ok with that. You have to figure he's going to get the Doughty contract ($11M), if he likes the destination as you say.Rangers are lousy drafters anyways
But jokes aside, that was just wild speculation from my part. Nothing substantial at all. My guess is that an offer of 10-11/year would be enough given the player in questions fondness for the city of NY.
Happened pretty consistently last year, sometimes the 4 main PK defensemen were all lefty’s.We're going to have to shift Smith to the right on the PK to avoid putting DeAngelo or Shattenkirk out there while a man down.
Staal surprisingly was arguably their best PK defender last season. He and Holden both were really close in their relative metrics against and were scored on less frequently than the other players. Rob O'Gara and Ryan Sproul were good in a small sample too.Prob some combo of Staal, Smith, Skjei, Shattenkirk and Pionk.
I'd just run Staal out there for 2 minutes with whoever.
I thought Staal played his best hockey with Pionk last year. I know the advanced stats disagree, but they looked the kind of blueliners that can complement each others strengths and weaknesses.
We could also kidnap his family and force him to sign that way.

That's not allowed. If the league finds out about that, the Rangers can be punished for circumventing the cap and lose draft picks.
I think the point is if we're signing EK or Panarin or Seguin, that "2-3" year made up window goes out the window and the team will be back to trying to compete next season.
Ok, I get it, not my most intelligent post I have made but neither is living on a island where the worlds most dangerous animals roam around.![]()
