Alber is providing as evidence a text screenshot with an unidentified person. He also has ~1k followers and recently became head of a fantasy sports website. This could just be marketing ploy.

let’s just avoid the nonsense and take it straight from the horse’s mouth:

What do you think they do if he does clear?
Put him on the taxi squad for some kind of eye opener.

But I haven't guessed one thing right in years. I didn't think we would trade for trouba, didn't think we would sign panarin, didn't think we would keep kreider. So.... he probably gets claimed.

Im sure if smth like this happened, our vetted posters will know. But it is likely they were strongly advised not to share that info.

The whole board is waiting to hear who got punched. If its Johnson, fans want a contract extension. If it's Kreider, there will be an effort to hack ADA's IP address and photoshop mittens on his school photo.

Kreider would break Tony into two pieces. If that's the case, someone needs to leak the video. It would be so good.

But WHO is Matt Alber? He is the only one reporting a punch and no one knows who he is. And there is no other evidence.

I am not saying it didn’t happen, but I want a better source than that.

It's still early in the season, but I thought I'd take a look at how some of the bonuses are looking for our big 3 (Laf, Kakko and Shesty all have max bonuses).

Due to the shortened schedule, the performance bonus thresholds are prorated:

What you need to know about NHL rule changes for this season

When it comes to performance bonuses, all thresholds will be prorated by 56/82. For example, if a player was due to get $212,500 for scoring 20 goals, he would reach the achievement by hitting 14 goals, but get paid $145,122 instead of the full freight.

These are the schedule A bonuses for forwards and goalies (excluding the end of year ones):
[TBODY]
BonusLafreniereKakkoShesterkin

Ice time (aggregate and/or per Game). Player must be among top
six (6) forwards on the Club (minimum 29 Regular Season Games
played by Player and comparison group).
Currently 6th in aggregate and per game
through 8 gamesCurrently 7th in aggregate and per game
through 8 gamesN/A

Goals: 14 Goal Minimum
1 goal, on pace for 7 goals2 goals, on pace for 14 goalsN/A

Assists: 24 Assist Minimum
0 assists, on pace for 0 assists0 assists, on pace for 0 assistsN/A

Points: 41 Point Minimum
1 point, on pace for 7 points2 points, on pace for 14 pointsN/A

Points Per Game: .73 Points Per Game Minimum (minimum 29
Regular Season Games played)
.125 through 8 games.25 through 8 gamesN/A

Plus-Minus Rating: Among top three (3) forwards on the Club
(minimum 29 Regular Season Games played by Player and
comparison group).
Currently 12th through 8 gamesCurrently 7th through 8 gamesN/A

Minutes Played: 1,229 minutes minimum
N/AN/A263:58 minutes through 8 games, on pace for 1847:46

GAA: GAA <= median GAA of all goaltenders who played 17 or
more Regular Season Games.
N/AN/ABased on all goalies with at least 3 games (21 game pace),
Shesty's gaa of 2.73 is exactly in the middle, as he is 24th
out of 47 qualifying goalies

Save %: Save % <= median save % of all goaltenders who
played 17 or more Regular Season Games.
N/AN/A .894 save % is tied for 34th out of 47 qualifying goalies
[/TBODY]
Through the first 8 games, Laf is on pace to earn his bonus based on ice time, Kakko is on pace to earn his bonus for goals, and Shesty is on pace to earn his bonuses based on minutes played and GAA.

All of the other bonuses are unlikely to be reached by any of them, barring a significant uptick in their performance. Laf and Shesty still have a chance to make the all rookie team and finish top 3 in Calder votes, but at this point I think both are on the outside looking in.

Miller might make the all rookie team and/or finish top 3 in Calder votes, but he only has 300k in bonuses, and I don't know how it's broken down.

So, through 8 games, it's looking like we aren't going to have to worry about any bonuses rolling over to next year. I'll try to do this again around the half-way point, to see how things have changed.
