If the Rangers add Zegras and only lose one of Kakko/Othmann and a 1st that's a win.
You're adding a 60+ point, highly skilled center NOW who is only 22 years old and can be a core piece for the long term.
This is adding Patrick Kane (lite) except young and a center. Not aging bad hip Kane.
I find it crazy that people wouldn't want that. I love Kakko and Othmann but on no planet are they better or more productive than Zegras who has been the best offensive player on a gutter team his whole NHL career. His talent surrounded by better players like Lafreniere, Panarin, etc, he would be a huge addition.
We instantly become a better team. You way more than make up for the loss of Chytil long term. And if you only lose one of Kakko/Othmann you still have the other to plug in on a wing spot.
It would force us to move Goodrow's contract.

This is a lot of speculation. Yes they would be stupid if they were offering that and he wouldn't even discuss an extension.
If the Rangers were offering Kakko to the Flames ot would likely be for Hanafin w an extension

There's no words for how the Rangers do the opposite of what they should do every single time. It's been like that as long as I've been a fan. Except one year when they almost Rongo'd and blew it (1994).

I don’t want to trade Kakko, but if we are going to trade him. Zegras is the type of player you go after. Both young players. Both potential core players. I think both could use a change of scenery at this point

I'm not sure about there being no downside, Zegras looks more like Pavel Barber than an NHL star to me right now.

He literally had identical back to back, 20+ goal, 60+ point seasons as a 20 and 21 year old. He's injured right now and probably worn out from carrying that franchise on his back.
