When I was still taking the train to Penn or living in Manhattan & going to games regularly, there was a Rosa's Pizza in Penn that had halfway decent pizza. I believe they also owned a place in Middle Village.

Is this Rose Pizza an offshoot of that, or just another NYC name ripoff, like Original Ray's, Famous Ray's, Ray's etc? Reminds me of the Simpsons episode when Homer gave up the secret ingredient for the Flaming Moe.

This is the Roses that has always been in Penn. it had been closed for 5 or so years due to station renovations. Cheap tap beer, good pizza and they didn’t check IDs. The 18 year old Ranger fans dream

Ok, but I believe they took over the spot that was originally named Rosa's which opened in the mid-late 90s. Regardless, it's not that important.

Reading comprehension is tough eh. I don’t care about his 2 cup wins but his teammates definitely do. Willful ignorance doesn’t mean it isn’t true. I’m over Goodrow, as I said earlier I’d trade a first today to get rid of his contract. You must’ve missed that one.

Othmann call up. Drury was watching closely last night I reckon.
They’ve all seen how useless hes been in multiple playoff runs now. Not sure what weight his cups could possibly carry in the room at this point. We out cupped the Devils like 6 to 0 last year and it didn’t mean shit lol

Kreider-Mika-Wheeler
Panarin-Trocheck-Lafreniere
Vesey-Goodrow-Othmann
Cuylle-Bonino-Edstrom

I’ve always defended you Drury, now grant me this

Used to hit up Rosa’s for massive draft beers all the time when I was under 21 - good memories

Y’all might be able to wish a 3C Goodrow into existence, but no one has the ability to make that line win games.

Kreider – Zibanejad – Vesey
Panarin – Trocheck – Lafreniere
Cuylle – Wheeler – Othmann
Edstrom – Bonino – Goodrow

Dream scenario is Othmann crushes it, and when Kakko comes back…

Kreider – Zibanejad – Othmann
Panarin – Trocheck – Lafreniere
Cuylle – Wheeler – Kakko
Vesey – Bonino – Goodrow

Pitlick was just kind of there.

Like him more than Goodrow and hope he isn’t hurt too bad but the silver lining is we may find ourselves with someone who can actually play well in a top 9 role.

Pitlick, for whatever reason, managed to get that line up the ice and maintain some offensive zone time. Goodrow and Vesey with Bonino were pinned in the defensive zone pretty much all the time. When they were with Pitlick, they looked like a decent fourth line. I don’t know if that says more about Pitlick or Bonino.

Bonino is great at FOs, being a meat shield and chipping pucks out of the defensive zone without icing it. Outside of that he’s a black hole. Fine on a 4th line that plays less than 6 mins a game in the playoffs, a complete liability in any other setting. Pitlick is better 5v5, but someone I hope doesn’t play in the playoffs.

Well I guess 50% is better than nothing. Hope Othmann runs with it. His attitude can help this team a lot.

For all the bitching about the scrubs, Pitlick is -1 and Bonino and Goodrow are -4 which is perfectly fine for 4th liners with below average at best offensive talent.

Zac Jones somehow at -7 in 13 games is your standout. That guy better thank his lucky stars he's getting an NHL paycheck. Stolen money.

did we somehow come full circle in thinking plus minus is now a stat that actually matters?

When Kreider and Trocheck are on the ice together 5v5, the Rangers have scored 23 goals and conceded 8.

Now, it must be said, Kreider and Zibanejad are a great combo. Still are, probably always will be until they turn blue and drop over.

But man, that feels like one of those things where what we have is good so we won't try something that's better.
Yea its hard to justify breaking up the top 2 lines. Zib and Kreider can use an upgrade on the RW of course, but otherwise have to leave it. Bread-Tro-Laf have been unreal too. Chemistry is very important and those two units have a lot of it.

If Othmann sticks, that would be so huge for us. That's one less hole to fill.

Another D and a C at/before the deadline and we are in business.

Jones is getting moved by the deadline imo, much like Lundkvist did before him, his time has kinda ran out here and we can't send him down to get playing time, for him, for us its time imo
As for the 4th line, when the 3rd line is filled in our 4th line will be Vesey, Bonino and Goodrow and that will be fine

Yes...but his cap hit f***s us for 3 more seasons. Keeping him on LTIR for the entire time kills our ability to accrue deadline space. We'd have to pay Arizona to take on his deal.

Wait, seriously?!

That's so f***ing stupid!

I always thought that when a player is forced to retire, or - heaven forbid - dies, the team isn't on the hook.

They can't accrue cap space but what ever his hit is/would have been is free to be used.

So essentially they can go 4.437 over the cap for every year he is signed that he can't play.

Tampa opened up a f*** load of additional space by doing this.

Tampa's situation with Kucherov was a bit different however....Same for Vegas with Stone. Neither of those players were forced to retire, so both teams were able to use the additional space to bolster their rosters. Both were rewarded when the players returned just in time to start game 1 of their respective playoffs.

If Chytil is forced to hang em up & we didn't trade his deal, sure we could use his cap space, but we wouldn't really benefit like those two teams did. Plus we'd be stuck in a situation for 3 more years where we're not accruing deadline space. It's not an ideal situation which is why we'd likely pay Arizona a few draft picks to take his contract. It's not costing them real money, so I think two 3rds would be the price.
