man...it would hurt after seeing the playoffs Chytil had but you would think Dach is a safer bet to have a floor of 2c?

I feel like Chytil is ahead of Dach and we need more centers not less.

I feel Dach has 2C upside that Chytil does not have. Agree that we need more centers, not less, but it's easier to scoop up a 3C in free agency than a 2C.

But if Dach does have more 2C potential, it’s slight. Not enough that Lundkvist needs to make up the difference. They are both top-6-but-not-top-line potential centers.

I don't love Dach's game in general. If he isn't scoring, his effect isn't great. In that sense, I wouldn't be keen on trading Kaako for Dach but that's just me.

If they can build a deal of Lundkvist + for Dach, then that makes some sense.

No Chytil. The idea would be add Dach to Zib and Chytil, not sub one in for the other.

Chytil had 3 less than points than Dach last season while playing in 3 less games and playing... wait for it.... 13 minutes per game compared to Dach's 18 minutes per game. Dach also got almost an extra minute per game in power play time.

He absolutely fits our timeline. We need under-25 centers to grow with Kakko, Lafreniere, Chytil, Othmann, etc.

KK for Dach is a bad move. Ive had to say this repeatedly. In 2 more minutes per game dach has basically the exact same amount of points, and is worse defensively.
That being said Nils + maybe a 3rd for Dach could be perfect for us. Although we'd be a bit tighter this year, and wed definitely not be touching strome or copp.

How about adding some balance here. Dach also played on a poor team that ended up with 42 less points than the Rangers. Given an upgrade in talent believe it or not there would be an opportunity to improve.

i think the point is he doesnt fit fromt he standpoint of this team having just made a run to the conference finals and the fact dach and chytil as the 2c 3c combo wouldnt help the current top players get there again next year when everyone around here wants to see an improvement on strome. if chytil went out in a deal for a center upgrade and the team replaced chytil with dach then that could make sense if they think dach has a better chance to become a top line player than chytil.

I'm sorry to be blunt but honestly WTF are you talking about?

Dach spent almost all his even strength ice time last year playing with either Debrincat, Kane or both lmao.

And still managed just 3 more points in 3 more games played than Chytil averaging 18:00 minutes of TOI to 13:00 of TOI.

But yeah, let's just trade Filip Chytil for him straight up lmao.

This line of thinking literally has no defense other than Dach plays for another team and Chytil plays for us which automatically makes people think Dach is better.
