Lindros was good here. He had 158 points in 192 games. Adjusted for era, that would easily be a PPG now.
There's this weird cartoonization of the Dark Ages on here.
The unifying feature of the dark ages was some just truly awful 2nd and 3rd defensive pairings. We fielded some of the worst NHL defensemen I've seen in that era, and I watched Stu Bickel play in the ECF.
Pilon, Purinton, Karpa, Ulanov, Brad f***ing Brown etc.
It was also the only time in the past 25 years where we haven't had elite goaltending.
