Robertson is a better prospect now than Barron was when he was moved

We will see. Robertson's year 2 should be his breakout year in the AHL.

If Jones makes the team, it should by and large be his show to play big minutes in the A.

I liked the draft pick for value a lot- I think he has Marc Staal type potential, but he's always been a long play.

there is a surprising number of Ranger/Devil fans out there. Usually Hockey nerds who grew up in that area. I wouldn't be surprised if Brooksie has a soft spot for the Devs
He worked for them .

Brooks is absolutely a Devils fan. Worked for them before he went on the Rangers beat too.
Brooks covered the Bronx Zoo Yankees w Billy Martin.

If true that's probably the smartest NHLer nickname I've heard. Impressed somebody was able to go past just putting an 'sy' at the end of his name...

Elliotte Friedman wrote teams are looking at Kirby Dach. Teams are doing their work into what has gone on during the last three seasons in Chicago. The Hawks were on an ESPN+ game during the season. I think was against LA. Ray Ferraro was the analyst. I think Leah was doing the play by play. He thought Dach would be a really good 3rd line center/maybe a decent 2nd line guy. He wasn't sure how much offense there is in Dach's game.
Kind of a big red flag if a rebuilding team is trading their first rounder from two years prior. They probably see him as a limited player who still has outsize trade value.

I’d be all over Haula if Boston is moving him, but it sounds like they are gonna try to make a go of it this season until everyone is healthy.

If they crap out and do decide to sell, Haula is a perfect target. UFA after next season, can play C and Wing. Played for GG in Vegas and was good under him.

It’s gonna be a pain pill to swallow when the isles land Johnny Hockey and we sell ourselves Chytil can be 25-40 - and julien Gauthier is “ looking good “ in camp next to Tyler motte - our big landing .

Injuries and playing game 7's played a large role. I think we also had an emotional dump at times. You are right we need more speed. We also need more physical players and an ability to win faceoffs. Winning faceoffs plays a large role in PP and PK. The bottom line is our guys played their hearts out but ran in to a better team. People want to say we made the ECF we are almost there and that is true but we also got dominated by Pitt in some games and could easily have went out in the first round.
Yes. Biggest factor for me was the emotional part. I think the team just ran out of gas mentally, not to mention the physical part. And I have no problems with it. The Rangers were amazingly resilient. Very impressed. They mass huge strides.

Not NYR related but Krejci didn’t like that Cassidy never played him with Pastrnak (countryman and good friend) despite their requests to play more than a handful of games together and Cassidy’s excuse was that he didn’t want to break up the perfection line. Once Krejci left to Czechia and the Bruins picked up Haulafamer, Cassidy broke up the perfection line and stapled Pastrnak to Haula for most of the year
So the Bruins were in disarray. Sweeney hinted there was strife behind the scenes. Cassidy's firing makes sense now.

I wonder if the Monahan talk is maybe part of a deal to get rid of the Nemeth contract.

Was good for one year during the regular season, but was the definition of a shrinking violet when the playoffs rolled around. Plus once he blew his knee out, he was never remotely that player again...not to mention Perron carried him to 29 goals during that outlier season.

The only thing he does ok is kill penalties....not a reason to sign him, IMO.

I’m not saying he’s a world beater. But he put up 18 goals last year. Played with good players. As a rental, for the right price, he’d be a great addition.

I’d be more interested in him as a summer trade target, but again I don’t think Boston is trading him right now

Bring in TyJo for the impending royal road revolution. Bring in Louis Leblanc as a consultant to drop some pucks for faceoff practice. Get that Stanley.

Gross. What Monahan talk? I think Gorton kicked the tires on him like two years ago and probably rehashed old bees. Hope so anyway. He is one of the worst fits that the Rangers could target.

I was watching the 2018 draft on YouTube. Everyone is gone from the Rangers front office/organization except for Drury. Gorton was fired. Clark retired. Quinn was fired. Bobrov was fired. The Rangers went up to the podium to make their selections. Drury is the only front office member left.
