So it has been written, and so it shall be done.
Friedman is reporting that Kevin Durant just forced a trade to the Avalanche. The Rangers aren't beating a team like that.

He has been an underrated player. Can he still skate? Rangers need to get quicker up front. i would not mind him 2 year deal at most if possibleI don't know what Hinostroza is looking for on his next deal, but he'd be a good bottom 6 option of the terms arent too crazy.
Of course, he'd also probably turn into this season's iteration of a good bottom 6 player who ends up playing way to high in the lineup for too long.
Brian Boyle at least had a mean streak and yet people got on him for not being physical and losing most of his fights but was always willing. I would love Brian Boyle back on a 1 year deal. He would help at faceoffsThe Rangers historical love of gentle giants goes back decades. How do we break the curse.
Yeah but can they afford him though?Friedman is reporting that Kevin Durant just forced a trade to the Avalanche. The Rangers aren't beating a team like that.
I'd imagine this is the year the kids are strong enough to actually take top 6 spots with play and keep them. Coaches like the easy move, and the easy move is to play your high draft pick scorers in scoring roles.I don't know what Hinostroza is looking for on his next deal, but he'd be a good bottom 6 option of the terms arent too crazy.

I hope Rangers are one of those teams.Elliotte Friedman wrote teams are looking at Kirby Dach. Teams are doing their work into what has gone on during the last three seasons in Chicago. The Hawks were on an ESPN+ game during the season. I think was against LA. Ray Ferraro was the analyst. I think Leah was doing the play by play. He thought Dach would be a really good 3rd line center/maybe a decent 2nd line guy. He wasn't sure how much offense there is in Dach's game.
If Paul played as much center as Goodrow he'd have gotten 3.6.It's amazing how Tampa got the better player and for cheaper.
We paid $3.6M for Goodrow. They got Paul for $3.1M
these things add up.
P.S. I like Goodrow... I dont like his contract
wasn't he playing Center all playoffs? If Paul played as much center as Goodrow he'd have gotten 3.6.
People here were ripping that contract because of the term. He's a fine player and played well for them. He's not any better than Goodrow though. Goodrow can play center and take faceoffs which add to his value. Paul also had his best season this year with 16 goals. Before that he had 16 goals total. It's amazing how Tampa got the better player and for cheaper.

TB didn't get much in return but they freed up the money. Flat cap.
This is why I don’t stress about our cap situation. Some GM is always willing to help out.

Right, but we’ll be able to move problem contracts out. Especially on decent/useful players.I wouldn't say they "helped out." It's not like the Callahan deal or some others. They just got a top four D for basically nothing and if he were a UFA he'd probably get a similar deal to what he has anyway.
Nothing about Chris Drury suggests he doesn’t have the balls to do anything. The Rangers will be able to trade Kreider and to a lesser extent Trouba as long as Drury has the balls to do it at some point
The point is Tampa was able to wiggle out of a flat cap issue again. That's a lot of money they are saving. GM's always have options to navigate the cap.I wouldn't say they "helped out." One of his biggest issues is keeping his feet moving throughout his shifts, I'm not sure how that plays out with a position shift that requires even more constant motion and skating.Copp @ 5.2M vs Kadri at around $7.5M
IMO those are the options right now. I would not even entertain Strome. I like him but he's not the type of player we need.
We meme a lot but Laffy moving to Center solves A LOT of issues. I truly think he could do it too... he has the right mindset
And to your point, a lot of knuckleheads out there were suggesting that Tampa would have to attach an asset to mcd just to move the contract. It just goes to show how little some people around here understand how this goes. If you have good players that need homes you can get them a new home. The issue isnt signing good players to long contracts, the issue is signing bad players to long contracts. The point is Tampa was able to wiggle out of a flat cap issue again. Yeah, and like you’ve said before, getting rid of McDonagh to give Nick Paul an absolutely insane contract isn’t necessarily a good thing.I wouldn't say they "helped out." It's not like the Callahan deal or some others. They just got a top four D for basically nothing and if he were a UFA he'd probably get a similar deal to what he has anyway.
