It's all so tiresome
PLD. Age and contract are the two biggest factors. If the choice had to be made between JTM and PLD, which one would you choose? I would probably prefer PLD because if his age.

Pulujaarvi is just the shiny new toy. Makes zero sense to trade for another disappointing winger who needs a new contract
I dont understand this. Nuke was viewed as a scorer when he was younger that evolved into an elite defensive game that can forecheck and create room for teammates. His linemates love him.Yeah if you're looking for potentially the next Nichuskin, it's this guy.

JP was drafted as a scorer, constantly has issues w the puck, isn't great defensively, and isn't terribly effective on the forecheck. Two of the best players in the world don't want to play with him and there is a report that he is described in the oilers locker room as a "play killer" as in a play killer for their own offense, not defensively against the other teams.
What about that says he's the next nuke? Just hoping another former top 10 pick who's offensive game didnt transition to the NHL will adjust his game into an effect 2 way player again? Don't we already have one of those in kakko?
I strongly question if you've actually watched him play much or if you're primarily going off of numbers. We've had this conversation many times or certain players have great analytics and then they get traded in reality sets in. Part of the reason is great analytics is some of the guys that he plays with are such puck possession players and play drivers.Puljujarvi is very good analytically and a good defensive forward. His underlying metrics rate out VERY well in general. The area he gets killed on is goals above expected which may be a combination of things.
All in all, he has a positive impact on the game at both ends of the ice and because of his low goal totals, he probably isn't looking at a back-breaking cap hit.
Puljujaarvi is the type of player who would work really well with Panarin. He does the dirty work, creates chances and maintains possession. Basically a much better and more skilled Fast who Panarin seemed to enjoy playing with.

Panarin doesn't want to play with certain players bc they kill his plays, LD and mcd don't want to play with jp bc he kills plays offensively, but bread is going to work well with him?![]()
I just don't understand what you're saying, it's trying to justify why she go after the new shiny toy. If any of what you said is actually accurate then Holland wouldn't be looking to get rid of him, a bunch of teams would be interested in getting him (not a couple for a cheap price), And his elite line mates would want him to stay.I think it has more to do with how McDavid and others on that team want to play. He doesn't fit the style they want. He's a big bodied winger that wins in the corners and plays a possession style game. He played most with McDavid this season. Ironically enough, McDavid was not as good 5v5 when away from Puljujarvi than with him. He was still amazing while away, but he was flat out dominant with him. The numbers rival the Marchand-Bergeron-Pasta for best line in the league.
Maybe he didn't finish as much as McDavid would have liked, but he did everything that you want your wingers to do when playing with an elite talent. Work hard, get them the puck and let them do what they do.
A smart team is going to add Puljujarvi and play him with their budding star and they're going to stand out like crazy with him. Connor doesn't need him to be amazing, but there is definitely a young center ready to breakout that will love having him on the wing. Or a veteran center that maybe doesn't have the same speed he once did. I can totally see Pittsburgh making a move to get him. He's exactly what Kapanen was supposed to be for that team.
Rather trade for Dach than trade for Pool Party. Dach fits more of a need of position for the Rangers
Kakko for Dach please
My apologies, I shouldn't have asked if you've watched him play (wasn't trying to be an ass), it should have asked if you watch him play significantly. I have no doubt that you watch them play just like a lot of other people have I just don't know to what extent.Could the answer these questions not be I have watched him and looked at the numbers? Or must it be either/or?
Jesper Fast killed plays at time as well but it was understood that he freed up the other guys to do their thing

Historically how often have really good players said that they don't want to play with another player who then goes on to have a better career somewhere else with lesser players in just as big of a role?
This isn't a situation where JP is being blocked from a bigger role because of the talented team already has, he was given the optimal role with two of the five best players in the league And they don't want them there and his GM doesn't want him there. There's something else going on with this kid
Love those trades. Hope thats exactly what happens lol.Sign me up
Make a deadline splash to go for it too
And this is precisely why Finland as a country outperforms every expectation of them internationally. They play the game in a way that isn't pretty stylistically, but you need that style when the games get bigger and bigger.I am going to lay out a couple of guys below:
Player A
Age 22
25 points in 55 games
15:08 TOI
6.2 CF% Rel even strength
Age 23
36 points in 65 games
16:14 TOI
9.3 CF% Rel even strength
Player B
25 years old
13 points in 47 games
13:25 TOI
-2.0 CF % rel even strength
26 years old
38 points in 74 games
15:06 TOI
4.7 CF% Rel even strength
Player A is Puljujaarvi
Player B is Lehkonen
A team is going to get an absolute possession monster at a reasonable cap hit just about to enter his prime. I don't care if he scores 15 goals a season, he's already a very good support winger for a skilled player
Those were keanan led trades.Didn't Messier want his guys and help force Amonte and Weight out?

Even though he is Czech, Palat does the same things for Tampa. Ray Ferraro said he is a blue collar player that can make white collar plays. Nichushkin was the same way for Colorado. So was Lekhonen.
It's a reason why everyone has better possession numbers playing with Kakko. He does a lot of the same stuff. What they hope happens is the counting stats begin to show. The difference between these players is that Kakko is 21 when these guys are 24-26. He still has time for the counting stats to catch up.
