Speculation: Roster Building Thread: New Season Edition

How is that unique? All of these teams had at least two guys with more 4v5 PK TOI/game than Kreider (1:26/game). They also all play on the PP.

Boston - Marchand/Bergeron

Carolina - *Aho/Trocheck/Teravainen

Edm - *Nugent-Hopkins/Hyman

Fla - *Barkov/*Huberdeau

LA - Kopitar/Danault

PHI - *Couturier/Atkinson

SJ - *Couture/Hertl

STL - ROR/Buch/Thomas

VGK - Smith/Stephenson/Karlsson

That kinda proves the point though doesn't it? Only 9 teams had players that played more PK minutes than Kreider that also played PP. And 1 of those players is now on our team. Only 5 teams had players play more than Z. Factoring our possible minute distribution this year with forwards and defense, like I said, there may be A LOT of minutes going to the top 6.

How long until people are upset that the Chytil line isn't used enough? 3rd D pair? Until people are upset that the 4th line is paid too much to "not produce"?

So like I said, there is opportunity to push some minutes down the lineup which I think can make the team more competitive and tougher to play against. As well as perhaps more dynamic with fresh faces getting some time in spots that they might not if we just stick with the status quo.
 
Per Larry - Nils Lundqvist to Dallas for top-10 protected 2023 first rounder. Confirmed. If it’s top 10 pick rolls over to 2024 without restriction. Could be another component coming to NYR.

Only 9 teams? That's 30% of the league.

And no, not only 5 teams had players with more PK time than Zibanejad (among good players). Only 5 teams had multiple players with more than Kreider. Some also were more than Zibanejad. There were teams that just had one top player with more ice time. For example. the Leafs with Marner. And the Canucks with Miller. And the flames with Lindholm.
