The Panthers played with 5 D last night. 17 skaters. Montour had an injury. Florida has 6 D on the roster.

Edmonton played with 11 forwards on opening night. 17 skaters. Foegele and Yamamoto were injured. Edmonton has 13 forwards on the roster.

Twice so far. First week of the NHL season.

A guy who would be a low-key good pickup for that 3rd or 4th line would be someone like Hornqvist. Issue being his cap hit is $5.3m but his style of play would be a good fit.

If everything stays close to what we have now I’m confident in guessing that the number 1 if only deal at the deadline will be for a veteran defenseman.

Kakko on line 1 and Lafreniere on line 2 is just working. All efforts should be done to make sure the 3rd line is as good as it can be. Add another defender to the room for the playoffs and we're all set.

Hurricanes and Rangers are the two best teams in the East. I don't think it is really that close with anyone else. These are the two most complete teams. The difference will need to be Shesterkin and I'm pretty confident that he will be.

Lafreniere is tied for 2nd on the team for even strength points amongst forwards.

5th on the team in hits.

54% CF.

Kakko's possession numbers are insane. He's currently over 61% CF.

These two are not getting enough ice time.

Lafreniere leads the team's forwards in 5v5 ice time per game. Kakko is 4th.

I'd honestly be looking for a Lekhonen type to line up with Chytil.. Is there anyone available?

Figure Blais will be hurt, eventually. Vesey and Goodrow on the 4th line if needed.

Lehkonen type - Chytil - Kravtsov

I'd love a McLeod from EDM or Stephenson from Vegas. both are extremely unlikely but that mold

The Rangers still have 14 forwards on the roster.

Kreider is not skating today. Maintenance.

Vince is wrong, 2 will need to come out if Kravstov is back.

Kreider - Zib - Kakko
Panarin - Trocheck - Laf
Blais - Chytil - Kravstov

Vesey - Hunt - Goodrow - Carpenter - Reaves
I would go Vesey - Carpenter - Goodrow, which means Hunt and Reaves take a seat

If Kravtsov was playing, he would be on the 3rd line, no? He's probably still a healthy scratch.

See Hunt coming out for Carpenter too

Kravtsov aint likely playing

the problem with Laf an Kakko now is that they just won't get PP time because our top PP unit is godlike so theres no room for them, even Trochek has been great on it and its not like you're going to remove Zib, Panarin, Fox, or Kreider.

So all their damage will have to be done at evens. Just keep the lines as is i beg of you.

Still my favorite Rangers team til this day. That team was so much fun to watch.
that team had the Hart and Norris winner on it, and they won the presidents. One of the all time great teams that didn't win the cup.

I assumed he would be back, since he said Carpenter is "also a full participant"

Yeah I guess if that was the case they wouldve put Hunt up top or someone else as a placeholder for Kreider and put Kravy where he would be playing, likely next to Chytil.

Is Kravstov still day to day? Or are they thinking more practice time will get him better prepared for games? lol

The solution is still simple. I don't gaf what Trocheck did yesterday, his value to this franchise moving forward pales in comparison to Lafreniere and Kakko.

There doesn't need to be another righty on PP1 so badly that Laf and Kakko get denied PP1 time. It's ridiculous.

Laf and Kakko could easily rotate on PP1 and it wouldn't miss a beat guaranteed.

That's too big brain for Gallant. But at least he's finally getting them some even strength time.

Top six is fine.

Line four should be Vesey Goodrow Blais

Get Chytil some linemates. Figure out if you want to upgrade on Hajek/Jones.

Not too far from another cup run if this sticks.

Sounds like there is a real chance Kravtsov is a healthy scratch on Thursday. No idea how Carpenter is skating right now his head is being kept together by staples and hockey tape.

What’s too big brain is you thinking we need mess with our elite PP. The kids are getting plenty of time to start the season. If someone gets hurt or it goes cold for an extended period, they’ll get their chance.

That was a really bad slice, lost like 1/4 of his ear. And if you saw the pic you can see the two edges of the skate blade as a scrape further down on his neck, dude got lucky even with that horrific gash.

Same thing happened to a teammate of mine but it was on his chest. The blade cut through his chest protecter and left a similar scrape with the two edges but much longer. That would have been real bad, thank God it wasnt deeper

This is just complaining to complain

Literally the only part of this roster I’m concerned about so far this season is the third defensive pairing if A major injury occurs in our top four.

Everything else looks like it is sliding into position nicely. I don’t think we need another forward to be honest.

Same goes for Kane. As great as he is and the thought of adding him to PP1 is thirst-worthy, there wont be enough of the puck to go around for all 5 on the ice. Not to mention he is LH.

If they continue to roll this way we are looking at a top 3 PP in the league, if not the best. Why mess with that and actually pay a ton to change it

Imagine, just imagine, if they were on PP1 instead of the glorified 3rd line center that's there now.

No it isn't.

It's pointing out how stupid this franchise is. Having two stud superstar caliber forwards in their early 20s being denied special teams play. It's idiotic.

Trocheck should be playing most of his time 5v5 and that's it.

Lafreniere and Kakko determine if this team wins a Cup or not. Make no mistake about it.
