If he works with a blue collar I doubt anyone cares. But yeah, I think part of the reason we find this entertaining is because it demonstrates an indifference to social shame that the rest of us are too anxious to follow
I wonder if this guy has a job. i bet if i looked like a sloppy fool on national tv I'd be fired. no one wants that kind of embarrassing attention with coworkers

I wouldn't be surprised to see Smith traded in the next week or so to a team looking for a veteran d-man. Smith's playoff resume has always been very good. He has been able to elevate his game going back to his Red Wings days and he has been good for the Rangers as well. It may only return a late pick, but I'm expecting him to be gone.

At which point, I am expecting to see Reuanan, Miller and Hajek in the line-up, for better or worse. Maybe rotating Bitteto in depending on who is playing well/poorly.
Speaking of the Wings, when does Staal get traded?

Which of the four playoff teams in the East are they better than?

We're not discussing the Sabers here. This years Rangers have shown they're more than capable of beating any team in the east and have except Pitt. This current team is going toe to toe with every top 4 team in the division. That's with all the woes in personnel they've had come in and out of the lineup.

The PP if it were league average would probably propel this team to a playoff spot from the beginning of the year. Add some production form our underachieving young guys and this is a very different spot.

I'd pay him extra to paint the company's logo and phone number on his chest. He looks like he could fit the email too.

If the goalie play was even at a mediocre level at the beginning of the year, then this team is in playoff contention. And that is with Panarin missing 10 games, Shesterkin missing 10 games and ZBad not being found for the first 20 or so.

So yes, they can go toe to toe but as is the nature of what happens when you are the youngest team in the league, the overall performance will be uneven. Which is what you are seeing. The Caps, Bs, Pens & Isles are all better, more experienced veteran laden teams.

Considering everything that has gone on this year and that they are so young and that they are in such a tough division, that they are even a bubble team is pretty good.

NY Post: K’Andre Miller has made quick leap from roster bubble to Rangers stalwart.
According to Natural Stat Trick, Miller has skated 39:06 against Evgeni Malkin, 36:06 against Kasperi Kapanen and 35:01 against Crosby in six matchups with the Penguins. He’s faced Ovechkin for 25:45, T.J. Oshie for 24:49 and Zdeno Chara for 23:16 in five games against the Capitals. And in six meetings with the Bruins, Miller has defended ‘the perfection line’ of Marchand, Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak for 20-plus minutes.

It’s a workload that would be expected to fall on a veteran defenseman’s shoulders. While Miller has primarily been paired with Jacob Trouba, it appears that the 27-year-old has taken strides in his own game following a lackluster first season on Broadway because of his new D partner.

They were one of the teams who kicked the tires earlier in the season, so that's a distinct possibility.

why trade for him when they can get him for free? they would really have to be desperate to trade for him; you know league better than I do but this my uneducated opinion

Plus he's been sidelined I don't know how long, but it would take awhile for him to get in game shape

huge Miller fan and I’m happy that he received this chance this year to grow his game against the best players in the world. Literally! Crosby, ovechkin, etc.
gotta think he got this chance mostly because our LD beyond Lindgren is garbage. He’s shown for the most part he could handle it.

makes me think maybe it would be better if we didn’t have the likes of Buch or kreider or even panarin to see Kakko and Lafreniere really gets more responsibility? I thought it would be great to surround the young forward with established “vets” but at the same time seeing guys like Gauthier and Laf get 4 min each after two periods sucks.
I guess we will see in the long run.

I believe DeAngelo will get bought out but Florida is 2 points out of the top spot on the league, looking to make a run and lost their best offensive D man

so I could see it. Although I’m skeptical lol

When you read that Miller article and see the mins he’s playing against the lines he’s playing against as a 21 year old first time pro it is absolutely embarrassing to complain about him as I’ve seen the last couple weeks on here. As if he’s not supposed to make any mistakes. The kid has been phenomenal

On the flip side, I’m absolutely stunned at how he’s had so many moments of brilliance as a 21 y/o that’s played like less than 200 games as a defenseman throughout his entire career.

He definitely has some things to work on, but the kid has been nothing short of remarkable when you factor in the context to his situation. Kid worked his ass off to be an out-of-the-box top-4 NHL dman. I really hope Lindgren can be durable because a left side anchored by him and Key for the next 5-7 years would be amazing.

So who is dropping out so the Rangers go in?

I’ve got a very good feeling about Mathew Robertson as well. There’s a lot to be excited about on the blue line

Credit where credit is due, he's been fine since the stinker he had last time the Rangers played the Flyers at MSG and lost 5-4 in OT two weeks ago.

Yeah I don't know what these people are watching either.

He had that one atrocious game against Philly which would have made Staal proud, but other than that he's been more than fine lately if not good.

Sometimes the challenge with a kid who comes in and immediately exceeds expectations is that it raises the bar quickly. With familiarity, the great play becomes the benchmark by which we judge the player, and sometimes that's not always fair.

But he's kept it all in balance and has done very well for himself. I couldn't have asked for more.

KAndre Miller probably has also saved Trouba’s Rangers career.
Obviously Trouba is overpaid right now, but he has not been the problem this season and Miller has been the best partner that he has had on the Rangers. Rangers have two very good pairings. The problem is the third pairing is a disaster; but this should improve next year when the other young guys are ready.

Even if his first half of this season was "only" as good as his second half has been, we'd all be pretty happy and consider his play 'above expectations' compared to this time last year, thinking of where he would be today.

My expectations for Hajek are limited, but I also had to go back and remind myself he's played a grand total of 89 AHL games and 57 NHL games in his career.

So for as long as it feels he's been around, we're talking about a guy with only about 146 pro games under his belt to this point.

Same. And I also have to remind myself (yet again) that prospects' development is not linear with ups and downs (AHL / NHL, and in terms of performance) along the way.

I'm glad we have Knoblauch in the wings, but if Quinn were all that stands between us and Torts, put me down as a big Quinn fan.
