it's okay cause it's all just the way it should be
Did they start Blackwell on the 4th before moving him up with the skill guys? I still think he can play that role better than Rooney or PDG but I get that he's tiny.
Is Vegas desperate enough to win to move someone like Glass for one year of Zibanejad?
I have no idea but I would assume no
The problem with Blackwell is he gets knocked around in the D zone which lead to getting bogged down. He is ok in the O-zone. In the D zone he is a liability which isn't a fit for a bottom six role. He is built for the top 6 but he's not good enough to play there on a good team.I'd scratch Rooney or PDG before I scratch Blackwell.
Howden is ass but Quinn ain't scratching him especially not with his role on the PK.
It really shouldn't surprise that Blackwell has tailed off. He's not a top 6 and PP1 guy so it was only a matter of time before he started to level off. I still think he can be a terrific energy guy in the bottom 6.
Zenon Konopka....plus he likely would still fight a guy like Ritchie LOL....He had a great win percentage on the draws if I remember correctly...as the FO discussion is not a new thing for us by any means....we have sucked for a bit now. There are so face-off specialists out there. I like Peca, but we could also dig up someone like Dave Scatchard or Mike Sillinger. Shit, I almost suggested digging up Peter Zezel (RIP).
Yes, please! That's honestly a fair question and one that also has to factor in that Zibanejad isn't even playing at the level he was two seasons ago.
If you get two playoff runs out of him, perhaps they make that deal. But that complicates things a bit for the Rangers, and presents a challenge for Vegas when considering their current cap situation.
All that aside for a second, it is worth noting that Vegas has two players the Rangers really liked --- Glass and Krebs.
I was wondering about that before the season started and the Flyers got him back on the ice. It's a risky move to hold him if there is an offer or to let him go and have him turn into a monster somewhere else.Nolan Patrick may need a change of scenery.

the Rangers would have to know for certain they’re trading for Eichel at the deadline/in the summer in order to move Mika now. Which is probably unlikelyThat's honestly a fair question and one that also has to factor in that Zibanejad isn't even playing at the level he was two seasons ago.

Soft Euros....soft College players...and even a couple of soft Canucks probably . We likely got them all....and so do the Sabres which is why they can't win either....the mix is bad . It does not take a rocket scientist to figure that out....look at what that A hole got away with last night and us up by 4 goals....that is when you get your revenge . Somebody should have answered that slewfoot on our goalie . It can't be open season . We should have sent somebody after Hughes ....go for the jugular and fix this crap. Even something as simple as a two handed cross check or a shot to the balls....that only cost 5 Grand ...all it cost Ovie.....that would get their attention .Why I also want Bennett... Smith gets boarded and Shesty gets f***d with by the same guy... Little Rat taking advantage of Fox... I think it was Laf being surrounded by Bruins in the crease where Mika just gingerly skated away...
That shit should not fly.. Why has Lemmy been neutered? I do not like this version...
Where is the teams balls and intensity from that one Boston game?
That is the problem with both Tkachuk brothers....they both go too far too often and I understand the other players not wanting to partake in that at every whistle.....as I also know that is simply not a part of everybody's game every scrum....every now and then it is fine...but not every second shift .If I'm the Sabres, I would wait. Flames just fired Ward, so I imagine the team gets one more run and Sutter gets to evaluate. But some big players will be available there this summer.
And there was word that some of the lockerrom has been getting annoyed with Tkachuk, he stirs it up too much and they get pulled into after the whistle stuff. That was an eye opener for me. You need to change that culture. Either cave into that and move Tkachuk, or send out names like Monahan and Gaudreau. Either way, those packages beat ours.

Unless as mentioned Vegas is desperate enough and thinks they can afford Mika’s next deal. Similar to the Stone deal. Tough to say
Do you know if the Rangers think Krebs can be an effective center at the NHL level?
Could guys like him and Dahlin be a crossroads?
Pierre criticizing Dahlin this morning on Ottawa radio and he rarely does that with young players. He basically said he was lean and quick when he first came into league and now not so much lol
So I'm not disagreeing, but you can take a guy with too much and tone it down with maturity or experience. But it's really hard to add grit and bite to a player's game. Calgary needs more and not less. But that is their problem and not ours. That is the problem with both Tkachuk brothers....they both go too far too often and I understand the other players not wanting to partake in that at every whistle.....as I also know that is simply not a part of everybody's game every scrum....every now and then it is fine...but not every second shift .
I think they should focus more on Zibs then some of the others . No way we can engineer any kind of mega trade with a question mark like him hanging over the organization. He might be worthless the way he is performing this year . Is it Covid concussion or an injury or is some government coming down on his family too ? Care to surmise on that situation @Edge . Surely there is concern and no way another club would want him in a trade right now . That is a box the Rangers have to CHECK before anything happens .I've gotten the sense that while they are very happy with what Rooney and others have done, they aren't completely married to them either. I would imagine there's more comfort with an established bottom six player, than more of the journeyman type who surprise you with their play in the role.
Having said that, I don't see them hellbent on making a deal there. Just something they are tracking.
Right now, they are focused on getting Panarin back, along with Trouba, getting Chytil at full speed again, getting Kakko back and potentially adding Kravtsov, or even Barron.
I'm not convinced he's completely healthy--or maybe just not conditioned. He started off the season great with something like 5 points in the first 7 games.
You have made some great points ! I tend to agree with what you just said about him . You can see that if you stop and think about it for sure .The problem with Blackwell is he gets knocked around in the D zone which lead to getting bogged down. He is ok in the O-zone. I think though they are getting TOO much grit /extra curricular activity after the play from one guy is the problem when he is also a big part of their offensive strategy....and we all know it takes a long stick to score from the P Box ! He could pick his spots a bit better...and let's face it.....the refs will also get sick of it eventually . I do agree though...it is almost impossible to add grit to some players game....and I harp on it a lot LOL....like beating a dead horse LMAO.....So I'm not disagreeing, but you can take a guy with too much and tone it down with maturity or experience. I just thought it was an interesting tidbit. It opens up a bigger range of trade candidates.
