Absolutely not. It was in response to you saying that some people may be under the presumption that he would take less money to be here, which is not happening.

You were adamant Gorton wouldn’t be in on him at all? Or was that another guy?

The only way he signs in Florida is if they offer him like 13.5-14 mil and they aren’t going there. They need BOB more, you go to that price on panarin and you be sure BOB is demanding 7yr and 10.5. Turns into 25 million for 2 players.

I don't think it implies that, but I don't think there's anything cooking at the moment.

The Rangers were particularly focused on getting something done with them before the draft. With a mid-first out of play, it changes the dynamic a bit.

If Colorado isn’t going to offer a first then it should be the end of talking to them. If burakowsky costs a second and a 3rd in a deeper draft Kreider clearly is worth more

2nd and 3rd for an RFA Burakovsky who with some rebound is similar to James in production and two years younger. Worth taking a chance. A rental James will fetch less than Burakovsky unless the acquiring team thinks they can re-sign him. A 2nd or a pair of 3rds.
 
So it’s not even a million a year difference in tax savings according to cap friendly. If he claimed primary residence in fla it would be even less I believe. Then there’s the factor of endorsements and spotlight for himself and his gf. The tax thing is not going to come into play

Panarin spends a lot of time in Florida, he has some sort of a house there.
There's been rumours with Florida& Panarin for a long time.

They hired his ex coach Q who he likes, his ex teammate from KHL Dads plays in Florida, there's Barkov to put in the middle of the 2, russian speaking line.

They are after his good friend Bob and favourites to sign him.

Now this doesn't mean he'll sign there, but I wouldn't be too confident with Florida being a joke of a competition.

If he doesn't sign in Florida I hope it's the Rangers.

I don’t know man. I don’t like crapping on NhL teams unless they are melynk’s team.

But tallon’s BS psychological comments in an article this morning trying to make it sound like the Rangers were gonna be the ones trying to BS panarin into signing.... kinda rubbed me the wrong way.

So... BSing aside, the panthers don’t draw. Nobody comes to the games, not over 41 games. There’s no juice. Panarin’s not choosing to play the next 7 years there when the rangers are offering 7rs in the mid-11s.

Its facts. No BS here
