Do you think a poll on HF would give you an accurate representation of the Rangers fanbase as a whole? It wouldn't.

Lundqvist is basically top 5 most beloved players in franchise history. MOST fans, who don't obsess over moves like the Bigras trade or Claesson not getting qualified, want one of their favorite players to stay on their favorite team. This isn't rocket science.
I think you might be surprised.

Making two first rounder deals happen so as to get into the top 5 is really a reach IMO. I think more likely to happen is that a guy the Rangers really want starts to fall and that's more likely to be someone like Cozens, Newhook or Krebs than Zegras. But to me there's a decent chance that Knight gets taken early and if d-men such as York, Soderstrom, Broberg, Seider go earlier than expected some forwards are going to drop. This is where I think moving Kreider might come into play during the draft. Wouldn't want to trade Chris to the Flyers though and I think if Florida has in mind both Panarin and Bobrovsky there's no way they're going to have room for him---so it's going to have to be certain teams and Arizona might be one of them.

Alright, work done. Pizza will be ordered in couple of hours.

Who will create the GDT/ we will have a draft GDT, obviously right?

The exitement is rising folks!

I'm gonna keep saying it. Keep Kreids and keep Buch ...

If you are selling the farm for a top center and get one at 2, then there was really no need to push for a pick as high as 7-8. They might be inclined to go for a defenseman who could’ve been had a pick that would’ve costed less.

We don’t know what the rangers list of targets look like. Just speculation
They’re not selling the farm in either of these prosposed deals, and top line centers are the most valuable thing in the NHL, and they’d potentially have 3/4 of them

Preparing to be disappointed when the NYR don’t acquire another first. Memories of the Cam Talbot for 9th overall mania.

But then I remember Kappo ****ing Kakko and everything is gravy.

Then I remember Trouba. And Fox. And get giddy again.

JG is already playing with house money this offseason and it’s June 21st.

Haha, such a spot on reference.

Then PC sees a former higher pick and gave up that later first for Reinhardt...

Based on what Toronto is asking for Kadri or Kapanen, it seems like William Nylander would likely cost us ADA or Howden/Andersson.

With Kakko and Kravstov in the pipeline that should take up the skill portion of our RW. We may want grittier RW’s for the bottom 6 and that makes Buch expendable. I like Buch.

Kravtsov and Kakko both played more games and were more productive (ppg wise) on the left wing rather than the right wing last year.

See, now this is where I think we tend to over value these picks a little.

We’re going to give up 50 goals and 100 points, including a guy who has room to grow, and we’re going to send 2/3 of a first line to the team with a center who is likely the face of the NHL over the next decade?

For the 8th pick and a guy who is struggling to stick in the NHL?

The 8th pick will feature a nice player. But the upside isn’t that extravagant.

I know tensions are high right now around here but I never said I'd pull the trigger on a deal like that. Kreider alone wouldn't get the 8OA on himself. I figured Edmonton would want a player they could probably afford to resign long term as opposed to Kreider who might not be so easy to resign.
I can't say I agree on giving up 50 goals and 100 points... it's not giving up on Kreider but rather Gorton trading him because he has no intention of extending him long term at the price and length that he wants. Nothing extravagant about paying Kreider around 7m per long term. That's just silly business.
Didn't mean to make the 8OA a touchy subject... its reported by a bunch around here that Gorton has been hot after Zegras. No idea if he's there at 8... just spitballin' like many other around here about potential trade partners and Edmonton possibly being one.
