Chychrun got a top 10 pick and two likely high 2nd round picks with no money retained on Arizona's end. The Rangers could have matched that but it would have crippled the organizations draft pick and prospect cupboard. Not sure it would've been worth it.

East arms race continues, Granlund to the Pens. Tampa freeing up cap space for more moves.
I've never seen anything like this. Add Ottawa. They are no joke right now and missing Norris as well. If they ever had a goalie who could bring stability

Top 10 pick? I could be wrong but they are better than Detroit, Wash and on par with the Islanders/Buffalo. They could end up just outside a playoff spot but around 14/15 overall.
I agree tho we would have had to pay a top prospect like Othmann but overall I think that is a good trade for the Sens.

It would've likely been at the expense of signing one of our upcoming RFA's to term instead of bridge too. I'd rather not have Chychrun, have the picks, and sign Miller for 5 years than lose those picks and bridge Miller. No money retained is a non starter for the Rangers.

So this is the squad. One thing for sure is that we cannot suffer any injuries on defense. I'll take Lindgren killing a few offensive chances and Miller making the occasional mistake over Harpur and Hajek. Mikkola at least plays aggressive and can skate decently.

The good news is that during the playoffs anyone is eligible to be called up. Maybe Jones could weasel his way into the lineup if needed.

This team when fully constructed will be able to outscore most teams even with suboptimal defensive pairs. When it comes down to the top 8 teams, they need everyone back there.

The biggest thing moving forward is making sure Lindgren is 100% going in to the playoffs. Do not rush him. Let him heal. You hope you get the Kane boost tomorrow and possibly ride it into Saturday. Miller is back after their 4 days off. Could be a blessing for him and for Lindgren.

The Rangers have traded two first round picks for basically rentals. Copp and Tarasenko. The Rangers could have traded both picks for Chychrun.

Which D gets the recall from the AHL on emergency roster exception for tonight and Saturday? Give Robertson an opportunity. We have already seen what Hajek xan do. Give Robertson some experience. Maybe there could be a game in the playoffs where Roberson needs to play. Injuries. Suspensions. Robertson goes back to the AHL when Miller's suspension ends. Don't make Robertson's NHL debut in the playoffs.

The cap is an issue. I am just saying Drury hasn’t been shy about trading picks for players who disappear into thin air. Drury moves money elsewhere to make the pieces fit,

Well, he did "stock the cupboard" with an extra 1st by trading Lundkvist presumably so he would still have one after TDL. Mission accomplished. I think he's had consecutive very good/great TDL's which, historically, hasn't been a Rangers strong suit.
