The Devils are a very good team. I believe in a seven game series, the Rangers have a decided advantage in goal and (gasp!) a better coach. Remember who is behind their bench.

I think the rangers also have a decided advantage in defense and size. The devils are a small fast and skilled team, and we've watched year after year that teams like that get bounced real fast.
Meier is a great add, but they are not physical, and im not sure they're going to like how the game changes in the playoffs.
Hughes is alot bigger than he was when he was drafted, but he's absolutely going to struggle against the Rangers D core who's ready for the playoffs.
I dont know if anyone's noticed but trouba's also started looking slightly healthier.

Kinda unfair to place all the blame on the coach if you're expecting two guys who've only played for one team in their entire careers to just show up & magically fix the other issues this team clearly has. Neither one of those guys can cure Igor's inconsistencies, the inconsistent kids, or the overpassing, lazy turnover style game we've been famous for. Shit they might make the last part worse.

Regardless, it's a big ask to expect all of this to magically come together in 2 months & then dump it all on the head coach because the chemistry experiment failed. Gallant has his faults, but this team, even with Kane & Tarasenko, is still far from perfect as constructed.
 
The Never Turks are gonna never Turk. I DO NOT WANT TO SEE IT, but won't be surprised and kind of expecting Halak getting too much playing time in the 1st round.

You say the 'never turks' and then you mention him playing our backup too much in the Playoffs.

kinda like how we were spiraling in 06, lost the division to the devils, drew them in the first round and got smoked.
