Anaheim is next to last on the PP despite the mighty Strome PP specialist that the Rangers are lacking.

FOURTEEN POINT FIVE PERCENT, baby!
Anaheim sucks. Whats your point? Our pp with Strome was top of the league and when he was hurt it wasn't.

There was a poster or two here who back long ago when the debate was about Panarin, then Kreider, saying something like, the 8-9-10 year difference in ages between what they were signing/extending, and what they were drafting was not going to make for a cohesive timeline where the players would share their primes together.

Unless maybe I’m missing something but isn’t this quite obvious? The vets in their prime right now are supposed to be leading this team and driving the offense. Our kids are supposed to be providing secondary scoring and just continue growing their games. It’s all gone completely stale at this point. PP1 is a perfect example of how it’s all gone off the rails.

The playoffs are where Drury made his decision, Trouba was as physical force throwing big hit after big hit. Tell me truthfully anyone didn't like the big hits taking players out. Now in saying that yes, he did take himself out of the play on multiple occasions trying to keep up the same pace.

Also has some have said I doubt CK wanted the C more of a ra-ra guy--love it when he took the I-pad of Mika and threw it down.

Winnipeg and NY are 2 very different places and Trouba seems to be struggling with his play, personally I think he has some kind of upper body injury just watch him in front of the net pushing players from the side not squared up, no mean cross checks to the other players back to clear the crease. I was surprised he fought BT last night. Maybe it's an injury or maybe it's just the pressure of the C and the team playing like crap this year, but Trouba isn't the only player that needs a kick in the ass
He's clearly injured. Its definitely upper body, and i think he fought because the team looks flat af and he's trying to do the right thing as a captain.
Does it mean thats the smart thing? no. But trouba saw that the team was flattening, and felt it needed to happen.

That was the ultimate goal.
Have the vets carry the first wave, and then the kids carry the second wave.

The Rangers f***ed up their rebuild. Chicago waited until they had all of the pieces before adding Hossa in 2009. All of the pieces were in place. The Rangers spent $81.5M on Panarin and $56M on Trouba
I don't read the Athletic anymore as their Rangers coverage over the summer and leading into the season was laughable and I cancelled.

But, yeah, I'm with you on this and have been pretty vocal about it - Kane to the Rangers should not happen. This team isn't a piece away and, even if they were, Kane isn't the piece. I'm not trading premium assets, young players, or anything else for an aging Kane that doesn't play D - we have enough of that risky pass mentality around here already. No thanks.

Keep the 1sts, keep the kids. If you're in playoff position and adding depth then add it cheaply (3rds and 4ths) for bodies to fill holes. This team isn't sniffing a Cup this year unless something drastically changes.
Kane has scored 3 goals in 22 games. His shooting % is 4.4%. No mention of Kane's numbers in the article. They treat Kane like he is the same player from a couple of years ago. Vesey has scored 3 goals.

That’s not the problem . They are not getting as many Kreider tip ins . Not like the PP is useless

Kreider has 20 tipped shots so far this year. 4 have went in. He had 14 through 24 games last year. 8 went in. They're just not going in as often. He was never going to shoot 38% on the PP again.

Our core is what it is due to NMCs. We have to find a way to re-tool around them, hopefully without giving up recent/future 1sts.

Finding someone to take Goodrow would help a lot. Blais might need to go as well. Lindgren is too valuable to this team to sacrifice.

Something has to be done about the (real) NMC core too. Everything else is shuffling chairs. But the Rangers management will do what they always do and shuffle the chairs to have a playoff team. I expect a new coach and some blockbuster trades involving the kids for cap fitting vets for immediate help + futures. It's obvious Lafreniere's current circumstances are not acceptable to his camp.

Ah giving concrete stats Vs my eye test guess. Well played

The quality of the deliveries he was getting last year were amazing, this year not so much probably because teams know not to allow them, and expect them when they do, much like Mika's blast.

Well they don't seem to be defending Mika's blast considering he has a higher scoring rate at 5v4 this year than he did last year or the year prior.

Jesus I hope they have no intention of playing Harpur and that this is just to get Jones some games.

Hajek had the game of his life last night. I think he's earned a bit of rope. So i'd imagine its to get jones games.

Mika's getting more open looks because while he's scoring at a higher rate, its also a lower percentage shot, and it lets them defend CK more.
CK was the engine of that pp.

Trochechk?
I just don't get it why this wasn't the case with Trouba's injury. He basicly shits the bed every shift he's on.

Imagine Kravstov got hurt again. It would almost be funny at this point.

Last night the MSG Spotlight on Trochek made me wish the Rangers never signed him. He seems like one of those really energetic morning people who talks a zillion miles an hour before you take the first sip of coffee.
