I have no idea. I don't know Don Granato personally.
Yeah, neither do i. Seems like an alright guy

I doubt the question ever comes up because their #1 and #2 had to play big mins right away. It's all good, I like to rehash the "wait your turn" when I can. I had never heard a coach say that until Gallant dropped it

No fkn way
“The New York Rangers will not be staying pact this trade deadline season.” This person doesnt even know the phrase is “standing pat.” I trust their analysis zero even before their idiotic suggestion. f*** them. Hahahaha.

Years ago, that was standard operating procedure for Detroit. They would always let prospects fully ripen outside the NHL before bringing them in.

Why haven’t the Rangers given Robertson a cup of coffee? Arthur Staple spoke to pro scouts about the Rangers AHL guys.

They have Cuylle a look. In previous seasons, they called up Lindgren for a few games. Very odd.

This is Cuylle.

The Rangers need help on D. Very weird.
He’s a RD. Rangers don’t need help on RD (yeah yeah Triuba. But in what world does an NHL team sit Trouba for a guy who didn’t have a great camp)

Robertson is not a good prospect. He has not developed well on either side of the puck. I don’t see him being a player for us.

He is only a 2ed year pro and will only be 22 in Match. Not like he is 24 or 25. Maybe he will get a call up before the deadline. Cant be worse than Libor Hajek as depth. One injury away from Hajek full time.

12 weeks left and this is where we're at. The current format is terrible.
Devil's speed doesn't consern me a bit but our ability manage the puck. Our current bleeding point is the Panarin - Tro - whoever line. Last year Panarin had Strome and especially Copp to cover his ass. You need a 200 ft player on that line, just like Hughes has had Haula for the most of the season. Kane or Meier wouldn't be the solution.
I'd gamble and get a guy like O'Reilly or Toews in order to move Trocheck to the rw.
Vatrano was almost the perfect match for Kreider and Zibanejad and I'd add a guy like Meier there.

Detroit wanted their D to play 200 AHL games before calling them up to the NHL.

We should place you in a time out for not knowing Robertson is a lefty D.

Rule #4 I know you’ve heard this before. Never get high on your own supply.

No Kane
Panarin reportedly wants to play with Kane. Wonderful. Kane will be a free agent this summer. We don't know where he will sign but Drury knows where Panarin will waive his NMC to play with Kane again. I heard on a podcast(Serevalli)months ago that Kane doesn't want to change teams twice. He doesn’t want to be traded to team X on March 3 and sign with another team in July. He wants a contract extension as part of the trade. Kane will eventually need hip surgery. He can delay the surgery for after the season but it will bleed into next season. Any team signing him in the summer will probably not have Kane ready for the start of camp or the season. Hip surgery isn't easy to recover from.

Mark Stone was traded for Oscar Lindberg, Brannstrom and a 2nd.

Yes, they still control Meier and can qualify him... turn that 2nd into a 1st and you're close.
Brannstrom was a big time prospect at the time. He is just another small D who struggles to defend against bigger players.

The NHL doesn't allow teams to place draft pick conditions on the pick being upgraded for a player signing with the team. Qualifying the player is essentially a 1 year contract. The new CBA changed all of that. Zuccarello. Dallas wanted to keep him. He wanted to stay there. Dallas didn’t want to give the Rangers a 1st round pick instead of a 2nd.

If he's waived, part of his salary still counts against the cap. It's not a two way contract if I have my facts right.

Kravtsov has more value to the Rangers staying a Ranger and getting stronger. The potential is there, but he needs to bulk up. You can knock him off the puck with a feather at this point and that's not going to cut it in the NHL. I'd rather keep him around then get, basically, nothing for him.
The Rangers have too many LW's. They need to clear out some players for roster spots and even money. Kravtsov is a better LW.

I beg forgiveness fellow fans. A brain fart on my part. The Athletic article had another D man right after him and the first line or so mentioned righty shot and my brain scrambled the memory.

Is Artemi actually talking about this openly? I hope he gets his wish and either ends up back in Chicago or wherever else Kane lands. Let’s get creative here Dru. Is Panarin prefers to bro down instead of bear down to win hockey games, ship his ass out and use that cap space on players that will do what needs to be done.

This feels like an important opportunity.

Kane brings a couple of things outside of being actually good himself. He’s been bad this year. He’s won 3 Cups. He’s scored big goals in big moments. He can get Panarin going. That has some value, albeit limited. If he will only come to NY and the cost is essentially a favor to him, that’s fine. There’s a chance that works out favorably.

Meier is a stud but we cannot afford to keep him. San Jose will probably want RFA trade value instead of UFA, but not many teams can qualify him at $10M. If he costs more than Horvat that’s a hefty price. Even the Horvat price is hefty. If we don’t win the Cup that’s a trade that can set you back 5 years.

O’Reilly is cooked but brings many of the same intangibles Kane brings. He’d have some value just for those things alone, but not if you’re thinking say this guy will improve 5v5 scoring. He’d be an upgrade at 4C for a playoff run.

Tarasenko is the one to get. He’s a UFA who wants out of St Louis for years now. He’s fit perfectly with Panarin because he can dangle and transition off the rush. He can also cycle and bully the front of the net if you put him with Mika. He may fit perfectly with that line. St Louis also has other valuable pieces. One stop shop. Barbashev, Mikkola, Acciari, O’Reilly.

While Meier is certainly a better player, Tarasenko will likely come cheaper. If they’re going big game hunting, I’d go after Tarasenko and keep the price low. If the price is too high then I’d forego all these guys, none of them put us “over the top” and just go get 2-3 depth pieces. A top 9 RW, a 4C, and a LD. In the meantime, give Zac Jones and/or Matt Robertson a look. Jones had a beautiful goal the other night.
