The scratch isn’t even the issue for me. My main problem is that we’ve had a long, roundabout nonsense way of eventually just going back to the top-6 - because we all know Goodrow is just the placeholder there for Laf for now - that was working but going through a shooting% dip. This is such a stupid sport, and idk why we waste so much of our lives focusing on it.
Same thing with the “issues” at the beginning of the year where we were dominating teams, but Igor couldn’t make a save and Gallant misinterpreted that as playing bad defense. It’s just a comedy of errors with this team.

Listen, I'm one of the bigger proponents of being patient and developing the kids here. But it's clear Laffy has been playing really poorly for a while now. The question is, how to fix it.
I'm okay with GG benching Laffy for a game. I'm okay with it because I'm willing to be patient. Where it becomes harder to justify is when the messaging is, we need to win now so to hell with Laffy's development. That action alongside that message is toxic for young players. It's a bad spot to be placed in. Point is, you can bench or promote a player for the purposes of development. And you should. But if you're doing it to prioritize winning at this point in time in Laffy's career and where the Rangers are at as a team, I have a real problem with it.
Team Canada is gonna have no chance in hell at gold as long as they keep having a right handed shot on the right side of the PP. I think his name is Erik Bedard. Gotta get him off there and put a one time option there. Teams are gonna start taking away that royal road pass to Guenther.

Every forward but Zbad and Bread have been knocked down to the 3rd line for poor play. I don’t know why you’re surprised our highest paid players who have produced for multiple seasons have a longer leash. It’s not something unique to the Rangers or GG.

The scouting department got revamped. Even Drury is Sathers guy. Everyone else is a Sather hire.
I don’t know enough about whether slather really is involved or not but I will say gordie clark was sathers guy and he stayed under gorts & drury let him retire and no longer be the head scout. Drury gutted the front office. He brought Grier before he left to gm for sjs & he grabbed the head scout from Toronto. I think dru & slats have similar mind set but it seems like the hirings seem more drury nepotism(good or bad) than slats

I'm sure Dolan still talks to Sather but I think he has very little and next to nothing to do with the team at this point. Drury is his own man.

You haven't negated what I said. Sather's fingerprints are all over the org. That doesn't mean everyone is a Sather guy. The recent hires are not Sather....
It needs to be completely gutted and people of merit need to be inserted. I don't care who hires them or who they are. Be good at your job.

Since Drury and Gallant were hired they were both finalists for their respective end of season awards and have endured a first half of the season where a lot more has gone wrong than right and yet we sit in the top half of the standings. Touch me with those fingerprints.
