I mentioned their young forwards the other day, then was adamantly told yesterday that Minnesota doesn't need Stepan.
 
That would be a very hefty payment for Trouba .... and then we have a huge hole at C. I'm not against getting Trouba, but what's our answer to Center? As much as I like Step, he's a low level 1 or a very high 2, Zib I think eventually can be a 1, but might need more time .... this has plagued us for years.

LOL than after his first shift, "I'm worried. Trouba doesn't look as good as people said he would".
 
Would Ottawa really trade Phaneuf to protect Ceci? Karlsson, Methot, Phaneuf. Ceci is the only guy left out in the cold. Phaneuf isn't amazing but they may move him to protect Ceci?

Where is Vatanen going? I believe Anaheim has a deal ironed out to keep Vegas from selecting Manson, but both? I would think that deal would include a couple of 1st round picks because if Vegas selects either player that's an easy return from someone.

LA is looking at losing Martinez or Muzzin while they protect Doughty and Forbort. That's assuming McNabb is also exposed.

SJ with Braun. Vlasic, Burns, Martin.

Florida with Pysyk and Petrovic.

If The Rangers really want to load up on defensemen maybe the smart play is to wait for Vegas to draft and then trade Stepan there IF Vegas is interested.

Its been fairly quiet so far. I suspect we have guys we would rather keep and guys we would rather trade but nobody on our team is off limits.
 
I know a lot of people want a elite center but I would be okay if we got an elite winger instead if our center could play defense and do really well on faceoffs.

I think LA is going 8 + 1. Only protecting Kopitar, Carter, Pearson, and Toffoli up front.

Also, on the topic of LA. Can't imagine they expose Muzzin. It'll likely be Martinez from where I'm standing.

What you say makes sense, but there's value to having that protection slot available. I mean, if you're Anaheim for example, wouldn't you rather trade Vatanen/Manson for meaningful value rather than paying a high price to LVGK not to pick them (and losing another player off your roster to boot)?

I want to get rid of him because he can't skate, can't shoot and isn't physical. Outside of those limited physical abilities he is a good player.
