Since Fox should be nominated for the Calder Award. 6 goals 27 points +9 in 48 games on a rebuilding team is impressive.

Let's start this, although it didn't work for Mika getting invited to All-Star weekend.

Fox has a shot at being a finalist but there's almost no chance he wins it.

No one is really talking much about him. I know he won't win it with Cale Makar most likely winning it. I just don't get how fans of the NHL and NHL network aren't talking much about him.

Rangers trading for two players that are expansion draft eligible, likely means one of the eligible youth/prospect they get in such a trade who between now and then turns out better than Lindgren/Hajek likely gets taken.

I mean there are other moves they could possibly make to avoid that situation, yet that has to be a consideration when we start talking about them bringing in multiple expansion eligible players.

Reminds me of Tony Amonte’s rookie season with the Rangers - a success by any measure.

Unfortunately, it also happened to coincide with the the rookie season of some kid named Pavel Bure.

I mean the Rangers cant just keep accumulating prospects and draft picks for fear of the expansion draft. They are trying to take the next step forward. They arent trying to compete for a playoff spot in 3 years. They want to compete next year.

So what you're losing is the difference between that player and Lindgren.

Yeah, Fox might be a Calder finalist but not make the All-Rookie team.

Not as bad as Lundqvist's rookie year, when he was a Vezina finalist but not a Calder finalist.

San Jose and Toronto have supposedly been the most engaged on Georgiev.

Boston and Colorado on Kreider.

Carolina keeps circling back.

Watch none of them end up as trade partners with the Rangers.
Who is most interested in Skjei

Just saying, the thought was

@Edge "Panarin, Zibanejad, Buchnevich, Kakko, Strome, Labanc, Kravtsov, Chytil, Lauko, Lemieux, Frederic, Fast, and Barron"

= I think, 9 expansion draft eligible forwards where Rangers could likely protect 7

Panarin, Zibanejad, Buchnevich, Strome, Labanc, Chytil, Lemieux, Frederic, Fast

Which 2 are not protected?

If it's one they just traded for, and he is taken, was that really a good asset to take in said trade? Or would we assume they take Fast?

Ideally Kravstov makes the jump next year and Kakko is a more consistent top 6 RW

If we make the optimistic assumption that we get a middle 6 LW somewhere from the respective Kreider and Georgiev deals

C - Zib, Strome, Chytil, Howden (tentative because 4C is replaceable)
RW - Kakko, Buch, Kravstov, Fast (tentative because of contract)
LW - Panarin, Lemiuex, traded for player (maybe, could be a RW too)

RD - Trouba, Fox, Deangelo
LD - Skjei, Lindgren

Then we are looking for a Top 6 reliable LW, and a Top 4 defensively reliable LD

I think its more likely that he ends up in STL or Colorado than Boston.

All depends on what teams are willing to move.

Colorado makes a lot of sense, but they don’t seem to want to move their top prospects, and there’s not as much to like once you get beyond Newhook, and to a lesser extent, Kaut.

Rangers like Jost, but the value there continues to drop. So Colorado might be willing to go there now, where they previously hesitated, but the Rangers might want more at this point.

I think on that list you clearly leave Frederic and Fast unprotected. So instead of picking Lindgren, Seattle gets the choice between Lindgren and Fast at his new contract at UFA rates. Not the slightest bit concerning to me.
