First line you get elite playmaking, elite goal scoring with Z, high end skill with Kravy

Second line you have a top 5 forward in the NHL, has solid EP with Strome, and Kakko’s big body along with his skill in his third year should really break out.

Third line you got speed and size with Kreids. Darault is elite defensively and solid play making. And with Chytil you get size and skill.

Fourth line is forechecking, grit line that can certainly score and contribute at a high level.



The thing that will turn people off is how much Darnault will want. But with Strome in his walk year it makes it easier. Also next off season we should look to trade Kreider, maybe attach a pick to free up space. Maybe attempt the same with Trouba.

A solid lineup IMO. But I understand the cap will be an issue. Especially knowing how much Darnault will command on the market.

I mean if you get Danault and Kakko together that is a hell of a shut down line in the making.

Again, if you could approach Vancouver and give them something they want in return this might make more sense, but I doubt you can steal Pettersson on an offer sheet.

Yeah, they'd be left with $10m to fill about 6 skaters and a goalie. That would be tight but I bet they'd figure out a way.

It does make you wonder why the hell they acquired Oliver Ekman Larsson with this pending crunch coming. They don't really have a lot of fat coming off the books soon... Boeser is up next year but you'd think they want to re-sign him.

In any case, this is why a trade may make more sense. Stealing Pettersson for four firsts, they probably match and swallow having to ice 6 skaters at minimum salary.

Trading for Pettersson in which you give them some young cost controlled players back, might be more enticing to them. Of course if you had drafted, say, a center this past draft, that might be more fricking appealing to them.

The offersheet is divided by 5 years. So if the Rangers offered him 80M over 10 years they would owe 4 1sts. I think 10x5 would be the way.

Seems realistic and makes sense to me. I think.

It’s absolutely realistic (well maybe not Danault. Not sold that he’s on the rangers radar). Zibanejad’s contact will be the stuff of nightmares. I’m terrified that they will actually extend him.
