Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. By my math assuming they get to a 23 man roster with the Martinez extension, 3 ~$1M adds at F/D/G, Vegas has between $4-5M in space (depending on how they fill those 3 roster spots).
To acquire Eichel they would need to move salary out. Moving Smith is $5M less whatever his backfill costs so would need to be more than that. Could maybe attach a pick to Holden to save $600k?
OR they just play the LTIR game this year and figure it out later!

(controversial) Vezina winner is traded for free because he makes 6 mil, yet ppl still hold out hope Geo, a dime a dozen goalie, will net a late 1st. "Carolina ruined his value!", NO, goalies simply have no value unless they show Vezina caliber consistency for 3+ years and are young. Even a 3rd rounder for Geo is unlikely based on market.
If they moved Smith + Reaves, for example, in the Eichel package they'd have room. They already have 13 forwards signed without Patrick. Add Patrick and Eichel, subtract Smith and Reaves. They'd have their 12 forwards and room for a call up or cheap depth guy.

Yea, good call...Smith and Reaves out plus only carrying 12 forwards could squeak it out.
Agree. I'd reassess whether we need a better veteran backup after we see how the workload/performances look in a full 82 game season.

No, that was prior to the expansion draft. This is different. The player can be granted permission by the team holding his rights to negotiate with other teams.
Landeskog was a Ranger at one point. Kitchener Rangers. he did look good in Rangers blue. make it happen.
I bet Jones will be better than Miller in my opinion. Miller reminds me of Staal. not a fan of his,

Everyone keeps talking about Vegas trading for Eichel now or that we can move Strome there. I would not be shocked if they just sign Danault to play that 2C role with Karlsson and Stephenson in more offensive type roles. You want to talk about a fit. He can just play with Stone and have one of the best shutdown lines in the league all while being above average offensively.
