Rooney and Blackwell are the same weight, but Rooney is five inches taller. That means Blackwell is bigger. Probably stronger too.

Being stockier doesn't mean you're stronger, but even if it did, I don't think it shows up in the way they play. Blackwell is sturdy for a little guy, but Rooney is clearly stronger on the puck, stronger in the corners, stronger in front of the net, etc.

Yeah, I don’t care if Blackwell has 30 pounds on Rooney, he’s not as strong on his skates or on the puck. He was constantly getting knocked off the puck or on his butt.

Probably because he's set to make $1MM more than his cap hit and that's not how the Yotes role. He's also 1 year before UFA and may be he doesn't intend to resign there.

Right. And I mean, I'm a guy who likes Blackwell. I wanted him protected rather than Gauthier. So, it's not like I don't hold him in high esteem. But if you're going to try to tell me that he has the same or greater functional hockey strength as Rooney, well, I'm not gonna buy it.

The term "desperate" stood out to me. Even if it's the 1 year from ufa it just seems weird for them to be panicking at this point but that franchise is a mess
