Ah, so you’re hoping to distract instead of addressing the actual point. That makes sense, because that Goodrow deal is horrible. I wouldn’t want to defend that either.
Avery - you really have a big issue with Goodrow's contract? I can see disappointed but man, considering your avatar, you had to realize that we are missing players like Goodrow and this was market value. I don't see this contract as terrible, but as I have said - I am not as cap-savy as the crew in here.

Oh baby, this cap I'm telling you. We have loads of it for this year, but we'll need that in 2022 (mainly Foxy). Finally we have some and it's a trap.

As of now, we have 20 million in cap space - pending ADA buyout - for Chytil, Shesty and Buch. I have no idea what contracts to expect, I just hope for cheap ones.

Chytil: 2y bridge - 2m-ish, I'd hope.

Shesty: 6y/4.5m

Buch: 6y/6.5m

Rangers have about 23.5M cap space after a Deangelo buy out with Buch?, Chytil? and Shesterkin due for contracts even after the Goodrow deal. Strome, Buchnevich and Georgiev are rumored to be available.

23.5M + 2 valuable assets + 9 draft picks at the moment is what we have to work with this off season.

We’ve been over this.

But what does your disagreement with adding Tarasenko have anything at all to do with paying Goodrow twice his value?

Imo, Buch is expendable b/c the Rangers won back to back lotteries including a Right and Left wing. Add in Panarin and Krav so he’s gone. Now imo you add grit or that center, not another expensive wing with a bum shoulder.

No there wouldn’t. Because we would still have Kakko and Kravtsov. We would still have Gauthier and even Kreider as an option for RW if really need be. And we would still have a need for a prominent 2C/1B C

We have posts that say need to not let Chytil be 2C, and he's shown way more than Kakko, Krav, one of which would be 1Rw without Buch

Not yet today
LOL....maybe that's why the lack of trades from Drury thus far....maybe they might be contemplating a conversion of a winger to a center and having Goodrow doing the work on the dot . That way they keep Zibs and possibly Buch as well and just move Strome for the D left side help and give Gallant some games to work with this team and the young group . If Chytil can bump his play up under Gallant....it might change a lot of the team needs at C . That would also rule out any new conversions in all likelihood and put an end to Laf/Kravs at C .

Subtract about $3.5MM from thr available cap due to the large amount of potential performance bonuses.

Carp calls it a day after typing out BREAKING after the Rangers already tweeted the Goodrow signing with pictures. Vince, bless his soul, exhausts all of his energy and brain power taking over the mind of Indiana Jones trying to figure out if Goodrow's cap hit is $3.65M or $3.642M, admits defeat and is out of commission for the night. If Brooksie wasn't being fed information straight from the Rangers PR rep we'd have to follow John Vogl and Mike Harrington for movement on the Eichel front.

Paige Spiranac is covered more thoroughly than NYR.
