It’s painfully unlikely and would probably involve Buch just telling his agent it’s NYR or nothing.

I mean if Buchnevich really wants to stay he could come to Drury with a deal to take a massive discount in exchange for a full NMC, but it would have to be one hell of a discount. Like- 3.5-4 mil a season range

Kreider moving wouldn't even matter, its not only cap, its the Rangers have to see what Kakko and Kravtsov can do with more ice time (I think) and last I checked neither of them play LW where Panarin and Lafraniere just happen to be anyway.

Kratsov plays the left and he might be better there than the right.

They wanted the bigger, stronger, center-playing guy over the undersized winger. I mean, the last thing we really need is an undersized winger. I really liked Blackwell but Rooney makes more sense given the composition of the team.

Servalli mentioned that Vegas has interest in Strome, too bad they probably wont trade Stephenson that would be a hell of a contract to add and probably allow the Rangers to easily keep Buchnevich (but then Krav would be on the 3rd line)

No there wouldn’t. Because we would still have Kakko and Kravtsov. We would still have Gauthier and even Kreider as an option for RW if really need be. And we would still have a need for a prominent 2C/1B C
