I keep seeing Dvorak's name. Is this just fan speculation/fantasy or a possible move? What would it take to get him and why would AZ trade hiim?

So what? Maybe as a pro jock he was smart enough not to offer anything on a subject that was out of his league.
"he came up with a statement that went after property damage and ignored everything else entirely."

... but he did offer something apparently ...
Let’s stick to hockey. It’s a hockey board.

2 way center ✅
young ✅
can skate ✅
can score ✅
can take faceoffs ✅
has good term ✅
untapped potential ✅

Lafrenire Zibs Kakko
Panarin Dvorak Kravtsov
Kreider Chytil Goodrow
Barron/Hunt/Blais/Rooney/Reaves

Lindgren Fox
KAM Trouba
Nemeth Lundkvist

We keep all of our big prospects and land a longish term option to allow Chytil to develop. 360 win.
Who are you trading to get Dvo?

Jones and a 1st. Georgiev if they want him. Alternatively, can try 2 2022 2nds.

Then move Strome to recoup the pick(s).

It makes too much sense. He's a good player on great term. He doesn't kill our cap. Allows us to re-sign our players. Allows us to keep our kids. Affords us flexibility in the lineup. I don't understand why anyone would be against it.

Dvorak is Trouba's evil twin
Do not want

You don't see Trouba?? Guentzel is like super pale with bright blonde hair, looks like a Swede. Dvorak & Trouba have identical eyes/eyebrows, hair, and the same painful looking clenched teeth smile
I see Trouba...Maybe Trouba Guentzel mixture but I see more Guenztel

Speculation that he's available.

Huge reach that he's better than the current 2nd and 3rd line centers we already have.

His only real value over our current 2nd line pivot, is that he's youngish with term on a 4.45 per year contract.

Beyond that, AZ fans want an overpayment, some NYR fans are willing to accommodate.

Silly BS as usual

Overall, he's better than Strome and Chytil right now. This isn't a trade for just next season... It's for the foreseeable future.

Chytil could surpass him but that's the beauty in it. It affords Chytil time to develop.

Disagree.

For the role they are playing, Strome is a better player.

For the amount of TOI, Chytil has performed better.

Dvorak is a nice player, but doesn't make us better.

Can we agree that Dvorak is, possibly, marginally better (with different strengths and weaknesses) than Ryan Strome?

Why are we giving up all those assets when we can just sign a similar player, already in the stable, and not lose a damned thing?
He does things Strome doesn't.

He's a better skater, 2 way player and I think he has untapped goal potential. Overall, he would be better for fit for this team. and his cap hit would be much better than Strome's.

I would say Strome is better offensively than Dvorak is better defensively.

For the role that Dvorak would play upon replacing Strome, we would be worse off, not better

I honestly don’t think he is a better player, the only attractive thing about him is his contract and we don't even know what it would cost to keep strome. If Strome took 5x5 id just rather keep him and the 1st rounder.

I don't disagree with you but its not like he was Nathan Mackinnon tearing up the Q or something like that, he's been a 'really good' player all his life, I'm not expecting that to change much because he gets more ice time, in every other league he's played in he's gotten plenty of ice time. Finally, I like Fil as a prospect, but i think people are expecting more from him based on what? No diss on him because its the fan based that created this, imo he's the perfect young 3rd line c for this team and thats great, its when we all say he should be top 6 thats the problem because imo we have an organizational problem if he's a top 6 center and we're planning on competing for the cup.

To be fair, Carolina has been nursing Necas along through Charlotte, then in a third line role and both he and Chytil are draft class mates who played together in the WJC.

Necas was always considered a bit ahead of Fil hence their draft positions and it was widely criticized we reached with Fil in the First Rd.

I don't think he is very far off, if not exactly where he should be in his development if you look at it that way. I don't ever read anything but praise for Necas.

Frankly, I think Fil has lessened the gap between them in his NHL time. I'm very much looking forward to what he can accomplish.

It's not like Chytil and Necas came from world class hockey teaching. Hajek was in that system as well and he was a top defencman for Czech those years. I don't put much stock in ice time from any of their early developments.

We need a legit 2nd line center, if the guy thats here, basically putting up back to back 60 point seasons isn't it, Dvorak sure as poop isn't either.
Yeah, the point is I fully believe Dvorak would project into that position.

He'd be a 50-60pts player on the Rangers and yet do the things that Strome doesn't.

In my mind Strome isn't even an option... Are we truly going to pay him $6Mish long term?
