I'm excited about this rookie tournament.
Excited to see Habs fans lose their mind if Slaf scores at a 0.3 points per game clip.

You know it's inevitable! Fans will complain one way or another!

Kid better rip this tourny!

Nicholas could low key be the most important acquisition of the new regime up to this point. A competent development program could really take us to the next level as an organization.

There are three hirings I think HuGo knocked out of the park. One of them being more public in hiring Marty.

The other two are low key: Adam Nicholas in hockey development. And the other is Chris Boucher in analytics.

I remember at the development camp, many of the media said they never saw the camp be so intense. And we also saw how much Chris Boucher was relied upon during the draft meetings as we saw part of the video dedicated to him.

Hughes said they wanted to put emphasis on development and build an analytics department. They went out and got two of the best in those two fields.

This is what I'd do for lines

Slafkovsky - Kidney - Mesar
Heineman - Mysak - Roy
Guindon - Owen Beck - Davidson
Condotta - Stapley - Simoneau

Guhle - Norlinder
Harris - Barron
Fairbrother - Xhekaj

Extra: Centorame, Dube, Francis, Mailloux (injured), Mercer, Parker-Johns, Tourigny, and Trudeau.

Coulombe
You WOULD have Kidney #1C and Norlinder #1D lol

Han mentions Scott Pellerin being present, was he hired by the Habs ?

He used to be Director of player Dev for the Leafs until recently.

He was a pro scout for Arizona last year.

I don't know if he's now available and he's simply free lance and Nicholas asked him to join. Or if he is hired by the Canadiens and could be the newest addition to the Hockey Development department that Nicholas is in charge of.

Can't wait for the games!

Just for fun, I'd go with these lines:

Slafkovsky - Kidney - Roy
Heineman - Mysak - Mesar
Davidson- Beck - Simoneau
Condotta - Stapley - Guindon

Guhle - Barron
Norlinder - Harris
Fairbrother - Xhekaj

Still a little bit weak at center, especially since I see Mysak as a winger, but the wings are pretty nice and the defence too

Norlinder isn't a top pair guy
This is a rookie tournament and we're talking about being on one of the pp units.

Is your point that he's not a QB? May be true. But he can create offense from the back end.

I misread it. I was thinking top pair. I agree on the PP

I am interested to see where Slaf is deployed on the Pp. The best I’ve seen him on the Pp is the spot Roy is in (at the Hlinka tournament). Coach Ramsay kinda wasted him on the Pp at the WC, putting him in the middle slot

From watching these tournaments in the past I thought id warn you guys that the Physicality can be a bit low, Slightly less then a preseason game I think. Be prepared for small speedsters to look amazing and the more physical sort to look average.

There is usually one person each tournament however that feels like they have to prove something and makes a dangerous hit though. Hopefully it won't happen this year.

I doubt it will be a Montreal player who does it though. I doubt the Habs higher ups want to "cause trouble" during the first year they are invited to the tournament.
