Skjei is a pretty bland dude. Doesn’t appear to be visibly frustrated ever. Bad defenses lapses over the season but he really shouldn’t be playing a 1/2 role, neither should Shattenkirk but that’s for a separate discussion. Even though Brady looks like he’s topped out, I think he can provide more than what he’s doing moving forward with this group. If we add some more offensive skill (Panarin, Kravtsov) and maybe round out the defense a bit (Hajek, Rykov, whoever next season, trade?) I think his play will get better and better.

Yeah I understand your frustrations but I think some people like to overreact and have a scapegoat for something. He’s not meant to be a 1/2D and we were rottenly spoiled in having a guy like McDonagh (even beaten and older) for as long as we did.

Rangers aren't deep enough to lose Zuccarello, Buchnevich, and Namestikov and still be competitive. When you lose McCleod on top of that, this happens.

Think he got too much heat for the 2nd goal against (Everyone else stopped skating too, including smith who should have easily caught up to Weber, but still dumb of him to protest) but the bad pinch that led to goal 3, almost killing Howden, the LOL delay of game penalty...

It was bad.

But like I said yesterday, I actually prefer an adventure to vanilla on defense, provided you get something out of it on offense.

Skjei is so weird though. Like, he tries so f***ing hard to be an adventure and he can't even do that right. Brent Burns style, Adam Larsson results.

You fail to mention that they are missing 3 top 9 forwards. That makes a big difference when the depth is questionable to begin with.

The real question: will we learn from our mistakes and try tomorrow to make up for this little streak? Or will we succumb to a superior team. Frankly, unless the Jets go to sleep and we put in the effort of the season, the answer is pretty clear.
