He closed his hand/caught it which is the penalty not just the throwing part

Are you blind? He caught the puck, held it, brought it to his chest, did a full throw. In what world did it look like a swat?

There would be no issue if he just blocked it with his hand in the air, but yea, he grabbed it. That should have been a penalty shot and it was missed.
