Chris Jandric hasn't just been good this year. He's been North Dakota's best defenceman. Period. Not just among undrafted players either. He's leading their team in ice-time at evens, has the highest goal differential at evens, and is producing the most offence on a per-game basis of anyone on that blue line.
It's not hard to see how Jandric is driving those results either. He's a hyper-mobile, aggressive defenceman who presses the issue every time he takes the ice. Whether it's closing on opponents right as the puck arrives on their stick, leading the breakout up-ice, or activating from the offensive blue line – Jandric's making it happen.
We're not sure if his skating base will allow for this style to transition to professional hockey. Jnadric's an inside edge-dependent skater, more elusive than he is fast. Further complicating matters is the lack of any high-end creativity with the puck on his stick. But if you're looking for a player with a standout quality to shape a depth contributor's game out of, then you could do a lot worse with the always-involved, high-paced Jandric.
