I love that Prow is providing the net front screen on Pilut's goal. Like, the shooting defensemen just decided to do it themselves. :laugh:

Best game in weeks. Hope they have something for tomorrow - Appert talked about rotating in the healthy/rested bodies over the course of the games and Subban will go in Toronto tomorrow for certain.

Great to see Houser get first star - he knew they could catch the Marlies on that change that lead to the Kulich breakaway goal. That really changed the game.

Also good to see 13 players with a point. They spread it around nicely and no one line looked out of place.

Looks like you were half right as the Amerks ended up with 6. Houser appears to have gotten his act together and ended up with the first star. Good for him! So Subban drew the short straw and gets to play the rematch tomorrow in Toronto. Best of luck to him.

Houser looked better than Comrie. I know, different level shooters. But Houser wasn't sliding past his crease during saves.

Houser was solid after the 1st, for sure, but the actual story is how unexpectedly dominant the Amerks were on the puck. The Marlies had 13 shots in the final 40 minutes. We hadn't seen that from the Amerks, at all.

Yeah, that was an atypical performance from them. But now that we've seen it - let's see it again. :D

Kallgren goes up to back up Woll for the Leafs tonight too. Weird to have that much difference in the second game of a back-to-back. Granted, I do think Appert shuffles someone in to try to keep people fresh too since he has an entire healthy 5-man unit waiting for opportunity.
 
App's post-game comments took umbrage with the officiating both yesterday and in Saturday's game, questioning the on-ice calls and the lack of replay at this level. I wonder if he gets fined?
