I know it's probably a long-shot, but what do we think the odds are that Savoie debuts on Thursday? I'm completely biased as I'm going to the game and would love to catch his pro debut, though I doubt it'll happen.
Given how things went last night, I doubt they change anything lineup-wise barring an injury.

The team is on a 7 game winning streak.

I assume the roster color-coding is contract type (NHL vs. AHL-only) and not shot-handedness. Yay or Nay?
Blue back Red text = they have a Sabres contract

Red back Blue text = they have a Amerks contract

spot on. I used to use it to remind myself who's a drafted/traded for prospect, but I've watched so much Amerks fan the last 2 years, I probably no longer need them.

Also, I spreadsheet hockey A LOT. Like, primary hobby a lot. Sometimes it's easiest to just link ideas in screenshots directly rather than explain, so here's the key I go by for all things Sabres org.

This is the entire asset chest of the Sabres org in 1 picture (colors tuned for next year already):

It was great being able to watch this on the big screen on MSG. They played a solid, complete game. I kept hearing they play a game similar to the Sabres, but to be honest, I didn't see it as much. Just like the NHL teams that are winning, its the goal suppression side of the game that is the bigger piece. 5 man team defense, being physical, blocking shots, aggressively forechecking and backchecking. The Amerks have the role-players you need, with experience and grit mixed in. They are a more complete team than the Sabres. You need more two-way players to win in the playoffs. Offense alone is not going to get it done. I fear they are just going to keep throwing smallish skilled teenagers into the NHL lineup. Thats not going to win in the playoffs.

I just listened to Sabres Live while walking my dog. Marty said that Savoie took the warm-up Tuesday and he and Duff thoough that to be a sign that he'll be in Thursday. But give the way the Amerks steamrolled the Bears, that will be an interesting call for Appert to make.

They also said the game 3 will be om MSG, but made no mention of Monday.

I know it’s an easy thing to say don’t change a lineup on a heater…and sure that always works until it doesn’t…when I guess you should have changed the lineup…

but more important than superstitions or whatever are a couple important details.

First…change isn’t a bad thing when teams are adjusting over a long series. Giving teams exactly what they expect and are working to defend has downsides too

Second…the things that Hershey is going to struggle with…speed in transition and skill in the offensive zone…Savoie isn’t just the definition of those things…he’s as gifted at it as anyone we can put out there.

I know there’s always going to be fear of throwing a player in the deep end in a league they never played before…but Savoie plays naturally the exact way they’re running through the Bears. He plays the style as a default

The Amerks now are what we hope to see out of the Sabres next year:

A team that will skate you into the ground in transition and in the offensive zone...........yet gets back and plays team defense with a commitment to protecting the net.

The Sabres got the first part of that down pat this year, and that's where the similarities thing arises from.

Probably depends on the adjustments Appert wants to make and how Savoie will fit in to them.

Yeah, I've noticed and appreciated that. I really think guys like Linus, Rousek, and Kozek could bring back that late 90s Hardest Working Team in Hockey vibe. They play the right way.
I just assumed Hardest Working Team in Hockey was more catchy than Hasek and the Other Guys
