Coach didn’t pick the players who couldnt keep up at all in the matchup. He got them the top seed and ran into a speed trap that the GM(s) didn‘t give him the speed to play at.

They were a machine for a time this year, but part of their problem is very much being a dumping ground for all of the 4th line or extra forwards Dubas was trying to fit in with the big club. The Marlies should be an easy team to manage - selling UDFA on being in downtown Toronto, especially the international ones, is much less complicated for them. Same with appealing to local FA's - be they CHLers or NCAA guys - to play close to home and have a shot at moving up to the big club. But that hasn't been how it works out.

Im hoping to get some today. Hopefully theyre not sold out!
They're still doing their pre-sale. You can sign up for email updates from the team and maybe get a chance at access to the pre-sale. Otherwise tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday.

One of the things I was interested in at the beginning of the season was how having 6 puck moving/offensive defensemen was going to work.

Pilut
Prow
Davies
Priskie
Clague
Laaksonen

Good job by Karmanos replacing the last three with Cecconi and Bartkowski (and other parts). More defensive defensemen types.

They've also molded Davies into a more responsible player. He's still got good jump, still can make some interesting plays off the rush or filling down the wing, but they've tasked him with being a more shutdown player than ever before. It's interesting how that has worked. They're also getting a lot more out of Pilut than he shows in the NHL - his physical play at the AHL level is not what we see up a tier. Not that he's a mangler, but he's more likely to step up on people or pin people out with authority in Rochester.

Bartkowski was a great find and Cecconi for Laaksonen worked out well. If you take a guy who can't defend and replace him with a guy who focuses almost exclusively on defending, it works well. Lost in this was how Davidson returned to start the year, then beat feet to Cleveland, then left them to go overseas.

Questions:

Is Cecconi a UFA ?, if so are chances he re-signs pretty high ?

Chances Stillman could make it through waivers if he does not make the Sabres (which he probably will as 7/8) to Roch ?

Cecconi, Stillman, Novikov would be a nice half of D squad in Roch next season. Too bad Johnson is up in the air that would round it out nicely.

Amerks have gone 11-7 every game except 1 these playoffs (largely on injuries)

They should play Savoie if they can.
