Nonis out. Rob Blake will be front runner. George McPhee will also get an interview.

Tombstone, perfect

Per Rich Hammonds stuff earlier (on mobile so hard to dig it up), he's not ready at this point in time w/his family.

The good Ole boy attitude already starting over in Toronto? Shanny ready to hire his buddy Rob over more qualified candidates. Wow. Blake is not ready to be a GM. Especially there.

If any Kings brass should be a GM it should be Futa and I would miss him sorely but would love to see him right the ship as the GM for the Leafs.

Kings Lombardi: Leafs have not contacted him about Asst. GM Rob Blake. Sense I get is that he wont give permission, keeping mgmt team intact

Can we get something out of it ? if so see ya blake lol Seriously thou Blake isn't ready for that media hell

At the GM meetings in February, the league did approve a compensation standard, but it hasn't been formally ratified I don't think, so not sure where this would fall. Depends likely on when it actually happens. I believe the compensation would have been a third.

Damn. Would have been fine seeing him go.

I'm sure the Leafs will get Blake just like they were supposed to sign him as a UFA in 2001. Then they'll hire Gretzky, just like they were supposed to get him in '96. That organization from the owners on down is a joke.

A 3rd for Blake seriously were do i sign I think the 64 th pick would be a pretty decent pick for a him.

There's an article that was linked in this discussion over on the business forum and they have 3 years to give up the pick as well. So it's not like you get it right now. Don't have time to go looking for it right now.

Blake is way too smart to take that job.

And lol at all the Blake haters who just can't let it go. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

Having a bit of fun at the expense of Blake isn't anything to get salty about.

Your comment was in good fun - some of the others seemed a bit more earnest, so I can see what he's going on about.

Regarding turning down an interview request: The Kings already lost Hextall recently. They probably feel like they want to maintain some stability at the top for the time being. It's also a nice thing to do for Blake - he doesn't have to tell them no if they don't even give Toronto a chance to ask.
