I was born here. Ive been here for 33 years. I’m a Long Beach native. The fact that Long Beach airport let Kobe leave my airport this morning when it was cloudy as hell rests on me and my residents shoulders. And rests on our judgements going in LA from the people in that part of town.

This wasn’t a simple tragic accident. It a was stupid judgement by the Traffic Controller and by the Captain of the helicopter.
Your hot takes are as bad as your trade proposals. They left out of SNA not Long Beach.

How dare you say that.

He was driven and determined. Maybe that rubbed people the wrong way. But off the court he was as gracious as could be and a great family man.All the great ones rub people esp competitors the wrong way in the heat of the moment. But after a few days it just goes away. He was very, very competitive. He and shaq beefed for years and he said after he got his 5th "Got one more than Shaq". Shaq didn't even care. Watch the video I posted before with them talking. Eventually everyone grew to love him, especially with how great he was as a basketball ambassador after retirement

What an *******!!

Guys is entitled to say/think whatever he wants. Doesn't mean it is always right or at the best time but telling someone what they can and can't say is dumb even at a time like this.

But what he said was factually inaccurate.
And? If you know it is false why do you care? Don't mean to sound insensitive, but to be outraged that there are idiots with no filter especially online should come as no surprise to you. Also how do you know that Kobe didn't throw coffee all over his shirt because he asked for an autograph once? While the chances of that kind of thing happening are 0.01% that doesn't mean everyone has to feel and think the same way about something. If anything all it does is out themselves as an idiot.

Just an absolutely heartbreaking of an image considering where that plane was coming from - the city where it all started for Kobe Bryant.

I still can't believe it since the last time I posted in this thread. I'm older than many here and I remember the Lakers of yesteryear - Jerry West, Gail Goodrich, Wilt Chamberlain and others. That was my team. I didn't follow the NBA much after the mid eighties but I sure heard about this kid out of Philadelphia, an hour's drive from me, that was going to be drafted out of high school. Amazing.

Two NBA greats gone in a short period of time - David Stern and Kobe Bryant - just unreal.

seeing those images of lebron really hurt. you know it was guys like kobe and MJ he cared for the most when it came to basketball. those were the guys he looked at for approval

also really feel for dwight howard. he had made it his goal to win back lakers fans this season after the disaster that was 12-13 and so far he's done that and more. i know regaining kobe's approval was a big part of that

My collecting trading cards phase was just ending when he entered the league. But I do still have some of his rookie cards in a box.

I imagine people are jacking up the rates on them to capitalize on his sudden death.
