Sounds like poor conditions heavy fog were factor

Everytime there is a major small aircraft crash I venture deep down the YT rabbit hole and learn things about VFR/IFR and pilot rating that scares the shit out of me and makes me consider never stepping foot on an aircraft ever again.

Canuck you need to start deleting some messages here bro. People ticking off the Kobe fans right now. All I asked was a simple FULL Investigation of 9 people dead and Kobe.
Nothing I can do in this section.

Given how Kobe's mentored so many of today's stars, it's sad to know that the next generation of future NBA stars won't get the privilege of getting to meet and learn from him. Kobe just retired a few years ago so you know a lot of the current high schoolers/college players looked up to him when they were a child.

I hope it was a case of no one on board even knowing there was a problem and the pilot just flying into the hillside due to low visibility. If they were having mechanical problems and tumbling down to the ground, that would be a terrible way to go that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. It's the stuff nightmares are made of.

Do you live in Los Angeles county? Do you live anywhere in California?? The cops don’t do **** on investigation. Because of budgets cuts. They give the scene 24 hours, and move onto the next one. I’ll goto my local city council and hound their ass over Kobe Bryant. Just like the entire cities are going to do.

I've been a resident of the county since 2009 and haven't resided anywhere else in my adult life. Your getting awfully confrontational and it's ok to be upset but please realize this is a freak accident, an absolute tragedy, assigning blame to the county for which he inspired and played his epic career in is juvenile.

That's what makes this even more sad and tragic. Thinking about what could have been happening in that helicopter in those last minute(s) before the crash is just heartbreaking.

I was just thinking a few days ago that the 2000s is probably my favorite era of NBA hoops. I got to see the 90's but was too young to really appreciate it. Kobe and Shaq were a fun duo and even after Shaq left Kobe always played hard and took everyone to school. Can't believe he only ended up with one MVP, but I guess the 5 championships and 2 Finals MVP titles certainly made up for that.

RIP.

I’ve been in a car crash where I’ve flown off the road down into a ditch, and even in that split moment, I thought “this is how I’m going to die”.

Can’t even imagine the chaos in that helicopter knowing what was happening, as they probably had a bit more time to figure out what was happening.

Hit home a little too close.

Tragic news. Kobe was a legend on the court and a humanitarian off the court.

May he, his daughter, and the other passengers rest in peace.
