MacInnis declined having his number retired. He didn't feel it was right since he had his number retired by the Blues and was still working for them. Him declining was the entire reason they created Forever a Flame, it was a happy medium that he would agree to.

That said, I think Fleury is the guy you compare him to... who by all accounts would have had his number retired if he wasn't a piece of trash.

Interesting, I didn't know that. Changes things for sure.

I just got tickets for the Flames/Blue Jackets game in Columbus in November. Gonna be very emotional, but I want to be there for it

I've been thinking about making a trip out there for this game too. Game tickets don't seem to be expensive, haven't looked at plane or hotel yet though.
