That's sick he should be charged seriously he sticks his leg up in the air to stop Adam Johnson who was carrying the puck into the zone. The sad part was it was off side too.
Also Matt Petgrave is the goon on the team so I'm pretty sure he knows all the dirty tricks.
Looked just like an accident to me, but, hey, you be you.

As best I can tell, the player was trying to give a hip check to another player, left his feet a bit, but because the other player had ducked, the checking player made contact around his thigh, sending him spinning into the air.

Clearly an accident.
Watch the video again in slow motion ... how can you give a hip check when the guy passed you?

And in really relevant news: am I the only person who had Count Chocula for breakfast this morning?

Always been on Team Frankenberry. Had some before bed last night. Slept like a baby.

GJG.

I usually don't eat breakfast. When I do eat, it's closer to brunch and Mrs. Jetson does this grilled cheese sandwich, using mayo instead of butter/margarine. And it's delicious.

He tried for a hip check and his leg pretty clearly got clipped.

It seems far likelier than a player, with absolutely no influence on his momentum in any way whatsoever, decided to break out a flying roundhouse kick, *on skates*. Has a player ever wound up with their skates that high in the air where they *weren't* contacted by someone else or even someTHING else?

Probably ……..
FWIW, for all the people who commented on my schizophrenic posting before lunch, I am not a Count Chocula fan. My new roommate bought those. She is a delightful and different sort of person who is far, far too cheerful and perky in the morning. One of her wonderful/horrible traits is that she makes breakfast for me, a meal I rarely eat and never need. Apparently, the Count Chocula is somehow required eating for the octave of Hallowe'en (another commercial event I rarely celebrate) so I ate the foxing stuff and endured the sugar buzz.

You know, in normal life, I'm not really this grumpy.

I'll be home watching this game, eating normal, non-Hallowe'en stuff like popcorn, and wondering why other teams score on us by parking a big guy in front of our net while we're retooling the PP to put Perfetti in front of their net. I hope we're appropriately kind and celebratory towards Wheeler and we send the Rangers home with a loss after four wins in Western Canada.

Wow Trouba's record against us is much better than I expected... I have this memory him being mid in most of our games against the Rangers, obviously not the case.

Murat's piece on the Athletic says that has this interesting tidbit about Wheeler:

One ex-teammate told The Athletic that Wheeler would take people’s work ethic “personally” — as if it were an affront not just to the team but to Wheeler himself. Another shared a story about a young player whose presence Wheeler would not even acknowledge in the dressing room. Their interpretation was that Wheeler believed the young player expected too much opportunity too soon, without first having earned it.

Anyone have any ideas on who this player might be that Wheeler refused to acknowledge? The article later explicitly said it wasn't Laine so it's not him. I wonder if it is Roslovic? I can't think of another who fits the bill... maybe Lemieux?
