You have to imagine the Leafs believe they have some sort of evidence that would counter the DOPS justification of the suspension.

I have no real insight what this could be, but wonder if they can demonstrate that there wasn't intent to hit him in the head, and rather the cross-check started on the arm and rode up due to Grieg's reaction.

I wish the Leafs would start openly not cooperating with the NHL. When I heard news that the league leaked the Rielly suspension through Kevin Weekes before the Leafs and Rielly were informed on a game day, it tells me the league is basically just sticking it to the Leafs.

All well and good if your average Joe Fan from who f’ing cares likes to carry on like they have an ongoing blood feud with Toronto. But when the league itself and its “leadership” acts so petty and spiteful, it just tells me the NHL is basically a soap opera.

People like to make the point that there’s so much media noise around the Leafs. But they seem to miss the point that this is what big league pro sports should feel like, and that maybe the problem is most of the other teams aren’t covered that way.

Walsh is certainly very outspoken a lot of things, but it is interesting. He notes that one. The decision was very clearly leaked by the league to media before it was announced to the team, which is incredibly amateurish and bush league, also referring to it as a kangaroo court is pretty telling.

The only people who seem to be happy with the DPOS is the commissioner of the league lol

So not only are DOPS horribly inconsistent league wide, they have gone ahead and clowned themselves even more.

If their rationale was to skew the result due to media attention, MLSE's rationale should be the same. More than Just Leafs fans and the organization see this as inconsistent.

It would be nice to see MLSE be the villain for once and strong arm brain damaged Parros out of his clown show. They would be doing the whole league a favor.

Players get paid per day of the regular season. Not sure how many there are now, used to be 186. First time offenders only lose pay for the games days of the suspension, not every day inbetween. So 5/186 x 7.5 = 200k. Maybe there's 192 days in the regular season now or something

People think the league are soft on Leafs suspensions? If the ridiculous history that Parros has already hasn't convinced them of at least neutrality yet I think there's no hope.

that was the question. And since it’s likely none of those options, what’s the rationale for forfeiting $195k? Whats the salary being calculated? I get that you might not know the answer, but it’s pretty funny seeing you… ignore the question in an oblivious way.

Exactly !!! And make it well known to the media why.

There should be fairness and consistency applied to all NHL teams no matter which country a team is located in. The refereeing and DoPS should treat every single NHL team as equals.

Since Bettman became the commissioner, the NHL's focus has been definitely rigged in favor of the American based teams. They keep trying to make every non-standard hockey market as profitable as the Toronto Maple Leafs. It ain't going to happen when most Americans favor NASCAR, the NFL, MLB, and the NBA, well over NHL hockey.

IMHO, the Arizona Coyotes should have been moved to Quebec City a couple of decades ago already. Yet, they are still in Arizona playing in a 5,000 seat arena with our Toronto Maple Leafs proping them up with revenue sharing !!! This is such BS !!!
