Rielly’s response to Greig was…

Kapanen used to hate losing. Was sad to see him go (and his career dry up).

I don’t think Domi or Reaves care much at all. Domi tries to live up to his dad’s reputation every now and then, but a warrior he is not. Reaves is just trying to stay out of the AHL.

Everyone is looking down the bench for the next guy to do something. It was Geo’s fight a few months ago and now it’s Rielly. This should galvanize the room, but like the Geo fight it only seems to last a few weeks at most. Not a team, no leadership outside of Rielly, certainly none in the core forewords. Tavares and Matthews should be ashamed of themselves for watching that Giordano fight. Leadership must come from your leaders, and they are the C and best player.
Yeah I miss kappy should bring him bacc I rather him then a lot of these guys he used to run guys and scores timely goals

What’s that d core gonna look like now no sandin I guess mccabe and lily gotta bring it on the baccend do we call someone up and I hope it’s not that lavoie guy he’s not ready maybe niemela gets a game

Anything that hurt our team more then it helps is stupid as fck. So i let time tell.
If this spark the team to go on a winning streak it was a realy great move. If it make the leafs go on a loosing streak because you know our best D man is gone playing golf a few weeks, then it was stupid as fk.

If he would have been smarter about it it would have been no game off, and he would still spark the team with his rage. But it is a fast game stuff happen. I think he had way better options.

I'm more interested to see how the team responds to it. Do we now pay with a chip on the shoulder and purpose or turtle?

Ideally he should have cross checked him but not in the head. He will get some time in the press box. The slap shot goal was bush league and warranted a response. You’re already winning the game, you are getting the insurance marker no need to pull that S#%*.

How many times do the refs insert themselves into the theme of the game (non call on Benoit) leads to Sens first goal. We constantly get screwed over by missed calls and when somebody blows we wonder why the players are frustrated.

They have a tough schedule over the next three weeks.
What games aren’t tough for this team? Everyone in this forum enjoys trashing the Sens who are rightly a long burning tire fire, but do they realize the irony? Good teams win regardless of the opponent……….

They’re tough for anyone. Blues (2) Flyers VGK (2) AZ(2) Col. You got to play hard to win any of those.
Theyre not as good Col and VGK, they’re on par with STL and Philly and better than AZ and Ana.

if he had given a cheap shot on one of our guys or really laid out someone, i get it, but for a slapper into an empty net he deserves his teeth knocked out or his jaw broken by a stick?
If any of that happened I’d be OK with it. Bad behavior needs to addressed.

I know that fighting in hockey is accepted... but I still think it's pretty dumb. In real life, I would never attack someone unless I was defending myself or someone else who was being attacked. Yet in hockey, it's just accepted that you can commit assault if someone takes a slapshot into an empty net. Pretty dumb if you ask me.

A stick is essentially a weapon, so I understand why fighting would be necessary. Too many clowns out there that would have free rein, at least the fear of maybe getting punched in the face may have them think twice. But with visors and inconsistent punishment, it doesn’t seem to matter anymore.

I actually was hoping the Keefe did what he did after, for the final 5.1 seconds. Put Reaves out.....if Kastelic wanted to run his mouth with earlier, and after what had just happened...... I would've had Reaves take the faceoff, then let the games begin.

Kind of wish we had another against Ottawa this year.

No reason to wind up full slapper in front of the crease for an empty net goal - total showmanship, and IMO disrespectful to the opponent. He should have been ready for someone coming after him.

Yea, well, now it might cost Rielly a ton of money and the Leafs maybe a playoff spot. Don’t know it was an appropriate response. Leafs need to do some reflection and think why they don’t get much respect around the league.
