If a team was trying to avoid him .....their top line would play about 12 minutes a game.....Morgans D coach Mike has an history of over playing his players and Rielly plays huge minutes. I have not kept track but I know that he has played over 30 minutes many many times.

Look at the Moose Jaws record over his trip to the world Jr and you will see that he is sorely missed in both ends of the ice.

I think you took my scouting information the wrong way. The opponent's coaches are purposely putting their top forwards on the ice against Rielly's defence line witht their last change.

Just listened to WJC blurb on the fan960 in calgary.

It was all about Rielly.

Said he could have gone to the WJC last year if he was not injured.

More or less said this WJC could be all about Rielly.

LOL - no pressure!

HIs Bosses faulted him.

It was like the day or two after Giggy's 63 save performance v DET that CGY announce Button would not be back as GM.

I remember it clearly because I missed Torontos game to watch the Anh v Det overtime, and it was the day I became a Giguere and, to a lesser extent, ANH fan.
I wore my 2003 era Ducks cap proudly during 2007.

The point is he has a history of not being able to see potential when he watches it all the time. So now we are supposed to accept his ranking when at best he has seen these players 5-6 times? Maybe 10 for a home town boy.

There is nothing you could say, do, or show me that would make me put any faith in Craig Button as a judge of potential Hockey players.

If he nailed the top 15, right players, right order, in 2013. I'd maybe start believing in him.

I don't care and I don't care about anything else in this post at this time except for the fact that no matter what I think of Botton in terms of his evaluation, his evaluation, AT THE TIME, when they dumped Giguere made sense cuz when Giguere was on the Flames he was absolutely horrible. This has nothing to do with anything other then his decision making on Giguere (and of the course the thread topic).

I know what your premise is......but as he is always on the ice, it would be hard not to unless you want to limit your top lines ice time.

He is much better defensively then you think.....he is a one man breakout as he carries the puck out of his zone. He is not an aggressive physical player and never will be, but he uses good body positioning and a real good stick to limit offensive scoring chances.

His ranking is justified....as he has unlimited potential and that is what this list is about.....upside!

Except for the fact it is another example of Button not being able to judge a great players potential.

And I do believe this thread concerns players potential.

Agreed. Best Leafs prospect in a long time. Thank goodness Burke sucks at building winning NHL teams. I could get used to these kinds of prospects on our team. Now I have an idea of how Edmonton fans feel lol

You lost me at Craig button.

I'm pro-Burke and I was probably the biggest "basher" of the HF rankings.

I'm also among the biggest "bashers" of this list. BUtton has been the 2nd biggest idiot in hockey. Milbury ofcourse is #1.

I thought you don't believe in these sort of rankings?

Oh wait, the Leaf is rated good...that must mean it's right!!!!

Yeah, Charlio believes in this list...

In about 5 years from now, it will become crystal clear who is better between Rielly and Hamilton...just like Karlsson and Pietrangelo.

I think it is arguable who is better between these two.. For Karlsson I believe he is coming off of a career year, and Pietroangelo still has room to get much better. If I'm building a team I would take Pietroangelo over any Defenseman in the show.

Who cares who is better between two, Right now, I am more than content with Rielly even if Hamilton is better.

Agreed, him and OEL are two perfect d-man to build a franchise around in terms of d-man.

I will give you a little hint....... life is better when your not so negative all the time. Every thread I clicked tonight has you whining and crying about every other teams prospects are better, Burke sucks, this team suck blah blah blah:shakehead
You sound like a 8 year old girl who got the wrong xmass gift.

I am posting on the Toronto Maple Leafs board, do you realize?

What should we talk about? Our fifth last place team....or our below average prospect system (after being the worst team in modern day history)?

Seems like the only one crying here is yourself to be honest.

OEL was my target in the B.Schenn draft. I wanted Burke to move up and grab him, but I'm not sure Phoenix would have moved their pick anyway.

I thought OEL looked like a man in the playoffs this year.

I agree. He iss a fantastic player. Way better than Kadri even though they were only one pick a part.

LOL at feeling the need to add that, it has nothing to do with what we were talking about. Or the fact that Rielly was ranked #1 of the 2012 draft class in TSN top 30 NHL Prospects.

Well maybe if Burke had the competence to pick OEL instead of Nazem Kadri we wouldn't be in this position we are in today (5th last picking Rielly) or maybe we would have picked a forward instead or even with Rielly we would have the best d-pair known to the NHL!

I didn't know the team with the 7th pick could pick before the team with the 6th pick.

Thanks.

Do you even know what you're talking about? Phoenix picked OEL 6th in the 2009 draft, Kadri was picked 7th by the Leafs. Please tell me how he should have drafted OEL right after he was picked.

There's always a way, always.

Please keep telling yourself that captain hindsight. Maybe Phoenix was set on OEL and wouldn't trade the pick seeing that he was on the board still?

You're just trying to justify your fake trades and attempting to show you could to a better job for whatever reason.
