an up and down game? all you mentioned for the "down" was an ill timed penalty which was reaction from a hit from behind where his head got drilled into the boards. meanwhile he had an assist which was incredible, almost scored another goal hitting off the post after another incredible move, and then he scored the first goal in the shootout.

His two weak plays led to goals against. He had a few really bad gaffes, and he had a few really amazing offensive plays. Don't see the argument, it's pretty cut and dry.

You can't compare a primary assist (not even talking about one of the greatest goals I've ever seen) and taking a bad penalty. One leads directly to a goal and the other one the team can kill. Not like his penalty was a 5 on 3. Sure when Bickel did it I was incensed, but he's an abomination. Also, don't forget the play where he stole the puck hit the iron. Would have been a great goal and an assist. Possibly the Rangers would have won in regulation. His positives (again) far outweighed the negatives. He dominated most of this game. I don't know how you can nitpick.

Almost every time Nash enters the O-zone he makes an impact. He is a dangerous player and you can feel the panic in the oppositions defense as he barrels toward the net!

I always knew he was good, but he has exceeded expectations. Like to see him finally get recognized as one of the best im the game.

Rick Nash adds a HUGE piece to this team. Why? Because we can have a game where Ryan Callahan isn't really much of an offensive factor....Where Marian Gaborik isn't much of an offensive factor...Where Brad Richards isn't much of an offensive factor.

And still put up 3 goals.

I knew it would take a few games for this team to get settled in, and getting rid of Rupp and adding Powe to make us capable of rolling a 4th line out there was huge.

Nash is one of the very few players in the league that can't be stopped. He can only be slowed down. When he want's to drive to the net either off the rush or in the cycle.. it's happening

And I'm 100% confident we haven't seen the best of Nash yet

It is such a pleasure to watch him play.

I honestly believe that he is more than worth the return we gave up to acquire him in terms of his impact on the game. But, even if he weren't, I'd almost be for it anyway, just because of what an absolute joy it is to watch a player like that on MY team for once. Even when Jags was doing it, you had a sense that it was his one last hurrah. We've got Nash in his prime for years to come. SO thrilled.

Nash's attitude and demeanor is my favorite part about him other than his sick talent. He's just a pure, canadian hockey player. Like Torts says, he is low-maintanence. He's tough as they come and understands the game, no ego.

This really is the perfect time for him to be here in NY. He isn't affected by anything. I love the confidence he has in himself, the way hes interviewed. Everything.

Dude is a ****ing gamer. So glad to have him.

Don't want to over think it, but I don't like how Maloney was just talking about Nash. He's "assuming" there may be a problem with Nash.

Also Larry Brooks tweeted about the Lucic hit to Nash's head earlier tonight.

hoping this isn't what I think it is.

Ugh. I tried to push the Brooks stuff off as trying to make a story out of nothing. I also maintain we shouldn't over-think things but MSG and LB definitely get leaked info.

Fingers are definitely crossed.

Yeah, the non-committal nature of that discussion coupled with Brooks' tweet is definitely concerning. Does the NHL concussion protocol require teams to be forthcoming with information, or is this something the Rangers could be secretive about if they wanted to?

Really hoping Nasher is OK and we see him on the ice tomorrow.

I have to think, if there was any sign of a possible concussion situation, that Nash wouldn't have played Thursday night.

Could be a delayed reaction I guess? These concussions are tricky.

Hopefully it's nothing serious and he's ready to go tomorrow.

This is the same team that let Marc Staal play after being decapitated by his brother. Wouldn't put it past them to screw up here.

Its not screwing up, concussion symptoms arent always immediate. Could take days or weeks for someone to notice they had one.

Love being able to see a Ranger skating into the zone and knowing he can make some smooth moves to split the D and break in to get the shot or make a great play to get the pass off. He's a truly effective player and a breath of fresh air for sure.

Would just like to bump this thread to let everyone know that Rick Nash is currently leading the team in:

Points
Assists (tied with Richards)
Shots
+/-
Short-handed Goals (has the only one)
Ice time among Forwards

He somehow keeps exceeding my expectations of him. He's doing every single thing right on the ice.

A monster 2-3 goal game maybe 4 -5 goal week is about due . Beating the Habs up in Canada on the back of Nash would be his NYR moment
