Rick Nash to team Canada

I think existing chemistry factored a lot into the selections which is a good thought in a short tourney.

Some obvious pairs:
Getzlaf-Perry
Crosby-Kunitz
Toews-Sharp

Then it's who you want at 4C. Bergeron makes sense over Giroux. Giroux could shift to wing I suppose. Similar to Tavares/Stamkos. The latter 2 as shooters seem like much better fits at wing. IMO.

You literally can't tell me MSL or Giroux weren't better options to ride shotgun to Crosby.....
i have no Pens love whatsoever but...
When you can put a 23 goal scorer who Crosby plays with, why try to make something else work? Then add a sniper like Stamkos or Carter on the other side...

MSL wasn't gonna make the top 6 and you don't want a player who's 4'11" in your bottom 6.

Blown away that St.Louis and Thornton didn't make the team and Kunitz and Marleau did.

Hope this wakes Nash up. When he's on he's one of the best players in the world.

Kunitz makes it because of his chemistry with Crosby. They'll be on the same line.

Don't get Marleau over Giroux or St. Louis though.

how does this explain MSL not making it because of his chemistry with Stamkos?

Stamkos isn't a sure thing to play at all in these Olympics, but St. Louis being left off is rather surprising. You'd think the larger ice platform would suite his game and speed very well.

I would love to see what would happen if Crosby was injured and the role Kunitz would play then lol.

There has to be a reasonable explanation for MSL not being on the team, I don't think it was a snub. Most likely like others have said, Stevie Y wants him fresh for the playoffs. I'm sure they spoke about it before, also as an older guy maybe he wanted to the break to spend time with his family.

Also I really wish Nash didn't get picked. I wanted him to use the "snub" as a motivating factor. Let's hope playing with some talent has a positive affect on his game.

I'm guessing they were looking to get more natural wingers and Nash does play both wings. Still, he shouldn't be on the team. I can see why Benn is on though.

MSL also, shoot out master

Perhaps my memory is short, but I can't recall Rick Nash once playing Left Wing for the Rangers.

Nash couldn't be any less deserving. Not gonna complain though. He will inevitably get hurt though and continue our trend.

Kunitz is clearly the Brent Seabrook of this years team.

Also crazy to think Staal would have probably made the team if he was able to play like his old self this season. A healthy Staal is better than Hamhuis, JayBo and Vlasic.

Depends where they think Stamkos will play. Everything right now points to him being on the wing, so they probably wouldn't play together anyway.

Also, they clearly wanted bigger goal scorers, which would explain Carter and Nash over Giroux and MSL. I disagree with that, but I see what they wanted to do.

Either the 13th/14th forward, with Getzlaf/Perry or somewhere else. He's not completely worthless without Crosby. I could see him being that even with Crosby though.

I don't know, all three of those players have been very good, plus JayBo plays with Pietrangelo. I don't get the people questioning those picks to be honest. Canada's defense is very solid.
